Kids’ Run 10K Run/Walk (certified course) 2 mile Run/Walk Overall awards / Agency recognitions GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS • Arrive early for your event, at least 30 minutes! • Have fun! • Strollers are welcome, just make sure you are in starting wave ‘C’. • No pets on the course • Official results will be available on the YMCA website the week after the race. • All proceeds from the YMCA Spring Run benefit the YMCA! CHIP TIMING It’s simple—if you would like a time/place for your 10K or 2 mile run, stop by the chip pick-up tent on-site Saturday morning before your race to get a timing chip. Remember—You wont be timed or placed without a chip attached to your shoe! Please return your chip promptly after the race to avoid the $20 lost chip fee. STARTING WAVES AGE GROUP AWARDS To ensure the best race experience possible for all entrants, please take a look at the starting groups and place yourself accordingly for the start of your race. Ribbons for top 3 runners in each age group for male & female in both 2mi and 10K runs: START GROUP A Competitive Runners Pace: 4 to 7 minute miles GROUP B Novice Runners Pace: 7 to 10 minute miles GROUP C Casual/New Runners, Walkers & Strollers Pace: 10+ minute miles WATER STATIONS Two water stations will be located on the 10K course at approximately 4K and 7K. 15 and under 16—19 20—29 30—39 40—49 50—59 60—69 70—79 80 and better Ribbons will be available for pick-up at South Sound Running Olympia, the week following the race. FRIENDS OF THE SPRING RUN City of Olympia State of Washington Starbucks Employees YMCA Staff City of Tumwater Mark Brown L & E Bottling OPD Explorers THE OLY FED KIDS RUN! • The Kids Run is untimed and about 1/2 mile long • The course is entirely on sidewalks and closed streets • Run starts in waves with oldest runners starting first • All Kids Run participants will receive a blue ribbon upon completion • Parents are welcome to run with their kids PARKING Parking on the street is free on Saturdays in Downtown Olympia. Parking is also available in the General Administration Building parking lot (accessed from Union Avenue), as well as the Visitor Center lot. RESTROOMS A plethora of portable toilets will be available near the Winged Victory Statue. BAG CHECK / LOST & FOUND Look for the Bag Check at the finish line and leave us your WELL MARKED duffle bag or backpack. Please do not leave us with any valuables like wallets, credit cards or cell phones. Lost & Found will also be located at bag check. The YMCA is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. PROVIDENCE SPIRIT ALLEY! For teams of 20 or more who registered in advance—cheer on your fellow runners and walkers from your own designated area at the finish line! All participants must pin their bib numbers to the FRONT of their shirts. Please do not tear off the bottom tab or pin it to your shirt. FOOD, AWARDS & ENTERTAINMENT! Join us and your fellow runners and walkers after the run for food, refreshments and live music provided by Providence St. Peter Hospital! Have fun with Agency recognitions, raffles, and overall awards!
