On the way in we saw a lady dressed in a French gown. Her name was Anne Boleyn. She told us about Tudor times. Next we went to another room and the ceiling was made of real gold. We found out that one of Henry VIII’s wives did give him a son so the ceiling was just for her. The people who worked for Henry got two roast dinners every day. Also they got clothes and somewhere to sleep. In the kitchen we saw a pot which could cook six hundred people’s meals! We went to see a Tudor fridge that ran with no electricity. Then we saw the garden and it was gigantic. by Alexis Lindo, Emilia Warchus & Madeleine McGuigan (4A) Netball Tournament Last Friday, a group of children from Year 6 participated in a netball competition at Vauxhall Primary School. The team played four matches against other primary schools from South London, and won the last one, with Alfie from 6H scoring the goal for our team. Referees from a neighbouring secondary school were impressed by the behaviour of our team and in particular with Dolapo from 6M. Dolapo not only played great netball but also showed excellent sportsmanship skills. Three cheers for our Year 6 team: Rachel, Darcy, Dolapo, Alfie, Gabriel, Megan, Tj and Zanika. We are pleased to note that children are dressed in the correct colours (navy and white) and are wearing sensible black shoes (no trainers or boots and no patent material). We are also pleased to note that parents/ carers have removed their children’s hair extensions during term time. Beads and other hair decorations are in school colours as well as being kept to a minimum (small, and no more than ten in number).
