Basic 5-Paragraph Essay: Foreshadowing
Assignment
Write a 5-pargraph essay that demonstrates:
 your ability to structure an essay properly
 your ability to understand foreshadowing, give examples of the author’s use of it and give
commentary about the effect of the author’s use of it.
Requirements
In your essay you must:
 Define foreshadowing (in first paragraph)
 Use this thesis statement: In “The Most Dangerous Game”, Richard Connell
uses foreshadowing to create an effect.
 Write five paragraphs in length
 Follow essay structure listed below
 Use textual evidence in the body paragraphs and cites the text properly with quotation
marks and page numbers
