5 ways you Project 48 can support First of all, thank you so much for joining us with Project 48. Linden and I are working really hard to bring you great quality blocks each week along with our amazing bloggers. In addition to making an awesome quilt, we are constantly striving to create an inclusive, welcoming and encouraging community. We chose a run Project 48 as membership site, because it’s a key component of creating the kind of quilting community that we want to build and be part of. Image by @elizabeck via Pixabay.com When we started out with Project 48, we never dreamed that we would have such an overwhelming response. Our membership now exceeds 1500 people from all over the world. Members have joined us from places like Sweden, New Zealand, England, France, America and Japan. This is incredibly humbling for women from a small town in Australia. Our members are from ages, genders, backgrounds and abilities. Two weeks in, we so very proud of all of you for getting on board with creating beautiful blocks and generally being great. two all are us, Running a website and maintaining a (growing) membership base of this size takes a lot of work. Countless hours of research, writing, editing, photography, coding, emailing and a lot of behind the scenes work goes on that you will probably never know about. We are looking into how we can continue our great service through several avenues, including sponsorship. This is why we have made the decision to move to a paid model. From 1 February, new members will be asked to pay a small joining fee. Nothing will change for existing members. As we sort through the best way to manage this and exactly what the fee will be, there are a few ways you can extend your ongoing support to us. 1. Make a donation Donations from our members would make a huge difference to us. There are all kinds of fees for buying a domain, web hosting, blog tools, advertising and so on. We have earmarked several features which would improve the website and we would love to be able to purchase them to make our lives easier on the backend, for example, automatically adding our members details into our newsletter so we don’t have to export it each week. There are also extra features available for you as members, like upgrades to the registration and password process. This is something we would all love to see I’m sure! Any donations are gratefully received through our Paypal account. 2. Visit our blogs and engage with us We work really hard to provide value through our own websites as well. Engaging with our blogs connecting on social media are easy ways to support us. If your find a post interesting leave us comment. If you like a post, tell your friends about it! Everybody loves a recommendation, so share on Facebook, tweet the link or pin the content. Chances are, if you like the content, your friends will too. Newsletters are a great way for us to connect in a slightly different way and give you direct content. Most of our newsletters will give you exclusive content through a subscription service too. 4. Buy our products If you love our patterns and products, you should purchase them. Purchasing from our online shops will help us in the most direct possible way 5. Support our guests. Supporting the bloggers who are part of Project 48, supports us too. You can do this by connecting and engaging with them; signing up to their newsletter and buying their products. These are 5 easy ways to support us at Project 48. And the best thing is, many of these options don’t cost you anything but will mean the world to us and keep us delivering great content.
