Christmas Open House
Patrick Henry’s Red Hill on December 6, 2015 from 2-4pm
Brookneal, VA – The annual Christmas Open House will be held at Patrick Henry’s Red Hill on Sunday,
December 6, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Patrick Henry Auxiliary sponsors this event and cordially invites the
public to attend; admission is complimentary.
Guests will be treated to interpretations of the historic buildings at Red Hill, including Patrick Henry’s
house, Law Office, and other buildings decorated by the Red Hill Garden Club. There will also be
demonstrations of flax to linen, spinning and weaving, blacksmithing, and limited children’s activities.
Enjoy Christmas carols from a local singing group while sampling complimentary hot mulled cider and
homemade cookies throughout the afternoon. Brunswick stew will also be provided by the Charlotte
County Lions Club and will be available for sale after complimentary servings. The gift shop will be offering a
10% discount on its regular shop merchandise on this special day. The annual sale of boxwood wreaths and
boxwood kissing balls, with proceeds benefiting the Patrick Henry Auxiliary, is currently underway.
Reserved wreaths and kissing balls are available beginning November 18th and will be available at the
Christmas Open House as supplies last. These wreaths cost only $30 each and kissing balls $10 each and
both are handmade using locally grown boxwood. Call (434-376-2044) to reserve your wreath or kissing ball
today as only a limited supply is available.
Red Hill is the last home and burial place of Patrick Henry and is maintained and interpreted by the Patrick
Henry Memorial Foundation, a non-profit corporation devoted to education and historic preservation. The
