Newcomb, Riley, Trevathan Claim Texas Roadhouse West
Kentucky Open Crowns
Nick Newcomb of Benton won the professional division of the West Kentucky
Open for the first time by a whopping 6 shots over local professional, Rick Cochran
of Paducah. Newcomb fired a two-day total of 10 under par and won $1050 for
his efforts. Ryne Burnett, Clay Hinton, and Nic Gooden all tied for 3rd, 14 shots
behind Newcomb.
Calvert City golfer Derek Riley (143) defeated a trio of Paducah area college
golfers; Joey Mayo (Rhodes College), Nick Thompson (WKU), and Drake
Stepter (Freed Hardeman Univ.) on the first hole of a 4-way playoff to claim the
amateur division title.
Eddie Trevathan (Gleason TN - 150) defeated Drake Creek members Rob
Proctor and Tommy Thomas (151) to claim the Senior Amateur Crown. Nelson
Shelby claimed first place honors in the second senior division flight.
66 players competed in this year’s West Kentucky Open. But the
tournament’s true success is probably best measured by the comments, letters,
and emails that we received from the players. Many considered the WKO to be
the most professionally run tournament they played all year. The Drake Creek
staff would like to extend our thanks to our member volunteers who helped make
everything run so well! We couldn’t do it without you!

Boats & Holes Sink August Chicken Tour!
Hackey Shack and Team Bacon Cruise to Runner UP
Boats and Holes was the only team to beat their handicap on the August Chicken Tour. They shot 2 under their handicap to claim a
2 shot victory on the July Chicken Tour. They collected $396 for the win.
Hackey Shack and Team Bacon tied for second place and split $264.
The Fore Skins won the only skin (seems fitting doesn't it?) with a birdie on hole #17. That skin wrapped up $220 for the team.
11 Teams have registered for the 2016 Chicken Tour . 8 different teams have already won or placed this year. September
handicaps are posted in the golf shop.
