PTO Meeting Minutes
December 9, 2015
Present: Alyssa Ryan, Gwyn Beckwith, Kristi Leksen, Lisa Nielsen, Gwen
Rodrigues, Kelli Walker
1. Financial Update
 Approximately $8,193.30 minus 1690 for science van = 6503.30
needs to be spent by end of school year.
2. Swingset
 Swingset can’t be completely replaced because it is
grandfathered in. The hardward can be upgraded.
 Bid from Cascade Recreation: $1,017.52 to replace chains,
seats, and bolts, and $1,300 for mats under swings to prevent
pooling
 Measure 1. Top beam to determine couplings size and 2. Chain
height
 Weekend work party for parents to help install hardware
 Gwen will ask if there’s a curtain drain or perf. tile to connect
and pool off – could we tie into that?
 Maybe one more delivery of bark – 20 cubic yards for swing set
and play set?
 Can PTO commit $3,000 to swings and bark, and school cover
the rest?
3. PTO Positions
 Vice President still needed – Gwen will post in newsletter and
Alyssa will post on Facebook. The VP will transition to
President for the 2017-2018 school year.
4. Advent Wreaths
 Went smoothly and successfully thanks to Mary Ramsbottom
 Great turnout and $49 profit
5. Santa Breakfast
 Brenna Borgognoni did a great job
 Profit $624.94, not including cut from photographer
 Lisa suggested a table near the door with a greeter, flowers,
and the donation box to help increase visibility/donations next
year
6. Catholic Schools Breakfast January 31st 9-12
 Brenna and Kiffin have this well organized
 Teresa mentioned there was a Seahawks game conflict during
the breakfast and that having the game streaming during the
Catholic Schools Breakfast might increase attendance
 Lisa volunteered to welcome attendees at a hostess/donation
table
i. PTO Banner on front of table
ii. Plexiglass locked container chained to table leg?
iii. Blue tablecloth – Kelli is a florist (Country Bouquets
Floral) and has access to a blue tablecloth as well as
possible future linens for school events
7. Catholic Schools Week – January 31st-February 5th
 Start working on the class lessons and exhibit forms
 Thank parents on Monday, God on Tuesday, teachers on
Wednesday, seniors on Thursday, students on Friday:
i. 2/1: Parent pizza lunch – 8th graders
ii. 2/2: Community appreciation?
iii. 2/3: Teacher lunch – PTO Stacey Duffy owns a florist
shop and is very busy before Valentine’s Day, Lisa will
help this year and take it over next year. Gwyn and Lisa
will help set up. Food needs to be donated by volunteers.
Valentine’s theme – red tablecloths? Soup and salad for
continuity?
iv. 2/4: Senior lunch – PTO Stephanie Ploudre committed,
Mexican food sounded fun, but perhaps other foods best
for senior’s dietary needs.
v. 2/5: Science center will need parent volunteers –
Engineering theme. Alyssa will find out how much staffing
Pacific Science Center provides and how many
volunteers we’ll need. 4 students can help unload the van
in the morning. Better idea is to have 2 adults.
8. Next meeting January 13th at 8:40 in the teacher’s lounge
