Mary’s Meals
Mrs. Sue Johnson (Bella’s Nan) is putting
together 30 backpacks to send out to Malawi for
children being helped by the Mary’s Meals
charity. We will have a collection box in our
reception area. If anyone has any clean second
hand children’s shorts or skirts (ages 4 – 11yrs in
bright colours) or rucksacks in really good
condition, please would you put them in the box
for Mrs. Johnson to collect. Thank you.

“I did some fantastic writing this week. I wrote my

“I liked making the beebots wheel along. I
pressed the buttons to make it go!” Joe, Class 2.

“I’ve enjoyed writing about our bodies in Science”.

Class 1: Jessica for sharing and taking turns with
others.
“In English we are designing a superhero and
writing an information page”. Holly, Class 4.
Class 2: Zack for his super attention to detail in
our train track building.
“This week we have been writing non
chronological reports on the Native American
Indians and will be creating a poster to go up on
display”. Sam, Class 5.
Class 3: Callum for a great piece of writing about
Florence Nightingale.
Class 4: Eben for his hard work and motivation in
improving his maths and for now moving to Stage
4!
Class 5: Alex for making thoughtful and spiritual
contributions during RE sessions.
May Madness
On Friday 26th May we are holding our annual
May Madness sponsored walk. The whole school
will be taking part and walking to raise money for
the PTA. We will be leaving school at 9.30am
and parents/carers are invited to come along and
take part if they wish to.
Children can wear their own clothes and suitable
footwear for walking in. We have sent each child
home with a sponsor form today.

Bristol Scout Visit
On Friday 28th April Class 5 went to Downton Hall
with Mr Davies to see the Bristol Scout. It was an
amazing experience.
You can find out much more about the
remarkable story of the Bristol Scout online. We
were very lucky to be able to have this
experience!
Achievement Assembly
Very well done to Fliss for being awarded a
rosette during her horse riding lesson for turning
to face the back of the horse in her saddle!
Holly was awarded her Swimmer of the Week
certificate for “Fabulous glides and excellent back
crawl”. Well done.
Lola received her gymnastics medal for doing
both a cat leap and forward roll on a bench. Well
done Lola.
Congratulations to Ragon who was awarded her
ASA 100m swimming badge and for winning the
Duck Race at Stoke St. Milborough.

Very well done to Bobbie-Jay who received a
Swimmer of the Week award for “Brilliant back
crawl and swimming”.
Very well done to Xanthe who received her ASA
Stage 2 and 5m swimming badges. She also was
awarded Swimmer of the Week with the comment
“Well done Xanthe, you have done really well this
week”.
Congratulations to Bailey who took part in the
Leicester Tigers Challenge with Luctonians
Rugby Club and came third!
Birthdays
This week we celebrated the birthdays of:
Saffron, James, Kyle and Mrs Rawlings.
Race for Life Event
On Friday 16th June we are holding a Race for
Life event to raise money for Cancer Research
which is being organised by Miss Allen. Children
from Classes 2 – 5 will be taking part and will
run/walk approximately 1 mile. Parents and
carers are welcome to come and watch (you can

finished). We are asking parents and carers to
