Your body depends on water to
survive. Every cell, tissue, and organ
in your body needs water to work
correctly. For example, your body
uses water to maintain its
temperature, remove waste, and
lubricate joints. Water makes up 60
to 70% of the human body by
weight, so all of us need to stay
hydrated to keep our bodies
running smoothly.
When you’re feeling hungry, drink water. Thirst is often confused
with hunger. True hunger will not be satisfied by drinking water.

If you don’t like the taste of plain water, try adding a splash of fruit
juice, sparking juice or a slice of lemon to your drink!
Try to limit sugary beverages. In addition to having extra calories,
sugary beverages (sports drinks, soda, energy drinks, etc.) slow
your body’s ability to absorb fluids.
Fruits and vegetables are great sources of water! Eat them daily to
not only stay hydrated, but also to maintain optimal health.
Remember to drink before you get thirsty. If you are thirsty, you
are probably already dehydrated!
