Year 6 Spelling Programme Spelling Programme Year 6 This is a termly weekly spelling list, through which all key phonemes, clusters, digraphs or rules are covered from the National Curriculum September 2014. Key aspects or spelling rules to be focussed on that week, are indicated in brackets. It is suggested that the children are tested at the start of the week. This will give an indication as to which words they are confident with and those that require more attention. These list of words will then be sent home on a Monday evening to be learnt with parents over the remainder of the week, before the children are retested on a Friday. These words must be drawn upon throughout the week in other areas of the curriculum, if they are to be embedded.
