How it works
A magician has six cards, each containing thirty-two numbers. All of the numbers
are between 1 and 63. A volunteer from the audience is selected and asked to
choose a number between 1-63. The magician turns their back or covers their
ears and asks the volunteer to whisper their choice to a friend or tell the entire
audience. It’s best for everyone in the room to know the number so everyone can
be astonished when the magician guesses correctly!
Now the magician shows the volunteer each card asking ‘Is your number on this
card?’ After the volunteer answers yes or no to all six cards, the magician
accurately predicts their number every time!
Here is how to do it
Each of the six cards has a magic number in the upper left corner of the card.
(Those numbers are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32). The Secret is: For every card that the
volunteer says ‘Yes’ to, you add the magic number. For example if their secret
number was 33. They would say ‘Yes’ to the first (magic number 1) and last card
(magic number 32). 1 + 32 = 33! Yes, it works with EVERY number…1 thru 63!
This is a great trick for kids, adults and even professional magicians! The
entertainment value is all in the presentation. Be mysterious. Pretend the number
is being beamed to you; their brain to your brain!
