each place value out loud.

Step 2: Below the number start with the highest
place value, rewrite each number on a separate
line below in the correct place value and add
zeros.
Step 3: Write each new number outside place
value chart starting with the highest and put a +
sign in between.
* you don't need to record the zeros in
any place value!
