Digital Paper Enabling Anoto Functionality
General Description
Post-it® Notes for Digital Pens allows one to automatically capture a handwritten note
(written on paper) as a digital image through a digital pen enabling Anoto functionality.
Technical Notes: Post-it® Notes for Digital Pens are printed with a proprietary pattern
of very small dots under license from Anoto. The tiny dots are barely perceivable by the
eye (nominal spacing of 0.3 mm or 0.01 inch). When using a digital pen
enabling Anoto functionality, a tiny camera in the pen registers the pen's
movement across the dots and stores it as series of map coordinates.
These coordinates correspond to the exact location of the note you’re
writing on. The pen translates the sequence of map coordinates into an image that is
an exact copy of your handwriting. Several manufacturers will be producing digital pens
under license from Anoto. Logitech is one of the first manufacturers to introduce a
digital pen.
Digital Pen for use with PC’s
Logitech® io™ Personal Digital Pen (available in the US & Europe)
• When you place the Logitech® io™ Personal Digital Pen in its
cradle, your notes are transferred automatically to your PC
(USB connection). You can then create Post-it® Software Note
reminders on your PC desktop, or email notes to others.
• Included in the box are 2 products from 3M:
o A 25 sheet starter pad of Post-it® Notes for Digital
Pens (6388-F-LOB)
o Post-it® Software Notes – Lite (included on the
Logitech io install CD)
