Steve Cochran Comedy Tour
Saturday, September 24, 2016 - 7pm
STEVE COCHRAN is the popular host of
Chicago’s number one morning show on WGN Radio, THE
STEVE COCHRAN SHOW, heard weekdays from 6-10am.
Steve is an easy-going guy that’s equally at ease with
covering the hard-hitting news and helping his listeners
gear up for their day. He covers the day’s headlines with an
analytical eye and his characteristic comedic slant. Steve’s
banter with his guests and fellow on-air crew makes the
start of the day a lot smoother. His hope for the morning
show is that you will like it. Remember, if you tell just two
friends to listen…that’s not enough. Tell 5-10 minimum.
(And if you e-mail this info to 5-10 people all your dreams
will come true!)
Steve was born and raised in upstate New York near Ithaca, in the shadows of Cornell
University. The shadows of Cornell were the closest Steve came to an Ivy League education as
he found out his grades were more suited to the TV-Radio-Broadcasting school at Ithaca College.
Over his career Steve has done some silly acting in some meaningless roles in some
average films. The one exception was when he appeared in GRUMPY OLD MEN with the late Jack
Lemmon and Walter Matthau. The role was crucial… he played the TV weatherman. Surprisingly,
Steve was not nominated for an Academy Award. If you rent it, remember it’s the first one - the funny
one - not the sequel. (Steve says that because he still receives residual checks from the Screen
Actors Guild.) Steve has performed with Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, and Gary Shandling to name a
few - or three. He also has appeared on all the major networks as a talk show guest or news story. These many appearances include hosting TALK BACK LIVE on CNN and playing an inept kidnapper
on UNSOLVED MYSTERIES. Steve says that these two jobs were very similar.
Returning to Chicago following
appearances on A&E, NBC & Comedy Central,
JOHN DACOSSE is a Chicagoland actor, best
known for MEET THE PARENTS (1992), CHASING
ROBERT (2007), NBC FRIDAY NIGHTS, and of
course the STEVE COCHRAN SHOW on WGN Radio
in Chicago, where he regularly appears disguised
as various character voice puppets which he thinks
are amusing. He has warmed up audiences for both
THE OPRAH SHOW and THE ROSIE O’DONNELL
SHOW, and has performed at Zanies, McGonigal’s
Pub, and numerous area venues. During his 30
years in stand-up comedy, this brilliant physical
comedian has developed a solid reputation nationwide. In addition to playing clubs and colleges across
the country, John has opened for Jay Leno, Howie Mandel, and Louie Anderson. His cartoonish,
expressive face allows him the unique ability to get laughs without saying a word! Rumor has it he
once contemplated an Illinois gubernatorial run until he realized what guber meant. He reportedly
enjoys Muffin Wednesdays, and allegedly has many funny videos posted on Youtube. Visit John on
Facebook! (He’s almost never there, but please visit and like him anyway.)
ROCKY LaPORTE’s appeal comes from his
Everyman, streetwise style of comedy. Delivering laughs
in his trademark Brooklyn accent, he has become one
of the most sought after comedians in the country, and
he just recently appeared on season 8 of NBC’s LAST
COMIC STANDING! where he received 5th place out of 10
contestants. A former Chicago truck driver and dock worker,
Rocky has accumulated a slew of performances throughout
his career, including being a featured comic on Showtime‘s
THE GODFATHERS OF COMEDY, a special starring five of
America’s most hilarious Italian-American comics. On the
big screen, he has been in two Tim Allen movies – CRAZY
ON THE OUTSIDE and THE SHAGGY DOG.
Rocky traveled with Drew Carey to Iraq to entertain the troops and was seen on the
Showtime special PATRIOT ACT: A JEFFREY ROSS HOME MOVIE. Rocky has filmed his own Comedy
Central Presents special and was voted the network’s second most popular comedian in a nationwide
poll. He performed (and received a standing ovation!) on THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO,
and appeared on A&E‘s EVENING AT THE IMPROV and VH1‘s STAND-UP SPOTLIGHT, along with
sitcom appearances on CHEERs and his own NBC pilot called THE ROCKY LAPORTE SHOW. He
has opened for the likes of Garry Shandling, Tim Allen, Louie Anderson, Hootie and the Blowfish,
and The Righteous Brothers, just to name a few. His clean, blue-collar style of comedy, unmistakable
accent, and hilarious yet endearing delivery, continues to increase in popularity as he travels the
country. He’s also done an enormous amount of charity work for groups including St Jude’s For
Children, N.F.L. Charities, homeless shelters, cancer research and Police and Fire Dept fundraisers.
PAT McGANN In 2007, Pat, transitioned
from packaging salesmen to stand up comedian. Soon
after taking the stage, he was booked to be House MC
at the historic Zanies Comedy Club. Hosting shows
helped Pat develop the ability and desire to work any
crowd. In 2010, Pat created and hosted the Emmy
nominated television show THE CHICAGO STAND UP
PROJECT. He has been invited to THE GREAT AMERICAN
COMEDY FESTIVAL, LAUGH FEST, THE LUCILLE BALL
COMEDY FESTIVAL, and has been heard on the
nationally syndicated THE BOB & TOM SHOW as well as
AXS-TV’s GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE. His debut comedy album SOUNDS GOOD can be heard on Sirius/
XM radio. In 2013, Pat performed and presented at the Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards. He was
also asked by The Chicago White Sox to write and direct a comedy show with their players. That
show, WILD PITCHES, was a home run! Later that same year, Pat developed a special segment
for the highly rated CHICAGO COUNTDOWN NEW YEAR’S EVE SPECIAL 2013 on ABC. He was
also asked to help Giordano’s Pizza respond to Jon Stewart and THE DAILY SHOW’S assault on
Chicago pizza, resulting in a quick appearance on THE DAILY SHOW. More recently, in 2015, Pat
made his second appearance on THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN.
When not traveling the country working comedy clubs or corporate gigs, Pat appears
regularly on SPORTS TALK LIVE (Comcast), WINDY CITY LIVE (ABC), MANCOW and GOOD DAY
CHICAGO (FOX), WGN Morning News, WGN Radio and ESPN Radio.
