Volunteers are the exciting
force that enables Bike Bald
to raise awareness & funds
to continue to give the
emotional support & raise
awareness. Our volunteers help with
community rides & events, greeting card
creating, toy drives & packing of toys/gifts &
administrative work/support. We have year
round opportunities available. Volunteer age
limits vary per event. Bring your group/org,
business/office & family.

Greeting Card Creating
Postage Stamps
We send approx. 12,000 handmade cards a
year. All the cards are handmade, creative
scrapbooking design ideas by our
volunteers. We are always in need of
scrapbooking supplies. Weekly open to the
public hours: Every Wednesday & Thursday
11:30am-1:30pm & 6:00pm-8:00pm.
and it’s FREE! Volunteers needed to assist,
to extend days & hours.
Postage is our largest ongoing expense of
the organization. Sending
cards & packages require
various amounts of
postage dollars. We are in
need of postage stamps.
Hold a “Stampede” with
your group/organization,
business/office etc..
Rides/Events
Donations
We are involved with the community whether
it be our monthly bicycle rides or events
involving raising awareness via spin a thons,
research fundraisers, holiday party, parades,
“Neptune” the fire truck events and more.
We always have a need for volunteers for
each of these rides/events.
Bike Bald is a 100% volunteer & IRS 501c(3)
org. A rising increase in children with cancer
& other serious illnesses all with unique
situations such as family life, social or life
adaptability are needing our support. A
smile on a child’s face is priceless. Your
donations go toward supplies for cards,

Toys/gifts, arts & crafts etc.
are sent to children weekly
as emotional support thru
the high’s & low’s that are
the result of their illness,
birthdays etc. We can
accept new toys only. At
your next event ask your
guests to bring a new toy to donate, hold a
toy drive with your group/organization,

“Neptune” the fire truck
Children
Bike Bald holds several bike rides a
month for all ages & some themed.
Whether you have been riding a few
months or a lifetime we have rides to
interest you. All of our rides are for leisure
at a pace in which all involved will enjoy.
Our riding distances vary from 7miles 407miles. Please check our rides/events
schedule on our website. Each year we
hold 2 extended cycling trips requiring
overnight stays. Our priorities are safety first & enjoy the
ride!This is a great way to socialize,
discover new trails & exercise. Biking schedule April/May - Oct/Nov.

Neptune was an early
responder at the Twin
Towers in New York
on September 11,
2001. Neptune’s
involvement within
the community is
overwhelming as it attends a number of City,
Park District, School & Residential Community
events. Neptune is often involved in photo
shoots, weddings, birthday & block parties,
Touch a trucks, cycling & marathons, parades,
homecoming/proms. Often seen filming for the
Chicago hit TV series Chicago Fire. Bike Bald’s mission is to be the emotional
support to those children battling cancer &
other life threatening
illnesses. Raising
awareness throughout the
community & providing
the opportunity to “give
back” .
Many children come to
our organization via
referral by medical
facilities, friends &
families. We currently provide the
emotional support to nearly 2,000 children.
“Pedal Express” is the
designated part of Bike
Bald that creates the
handmade greeting cards
and toys/gifts to children.
We send on average
12,000 cards & 5,000
toys/gifts a year.
“Pedal Wishes” makes
wishes & dreams come true for children. A
wish is evaluated to ensure that is it not just
for the moment
but, it will be an impact on the child’s life,
enhance ability in their life to ensure it is
making a difference - (socially, for the family
or personally)

Neptune has the support of several fire depts. &
firefighters. Bike Bald maintains all the
maintenance & upkeep for the truck. Monetary
donations help to support repairs, fuel, tires,
maintenance safety checks
as well as educational
material distributed to the
community -fire safety
awareness. Location
Named “Station 62 & the
Pedal Express” is a dedication to heroes.
