level measurement at the bright beer tanks Application 3 – Microwave

7. Bright beer buffer tanks
Meas. point 3: level measurement at the bright beer tanks
Application 3 – Microwave
Application description:
The level transmitter Micropilot is based
on the microwave principle and is used for
continuous measurement of the level in the
bright beer tanks.
In the bright beer tanks the beer takes a
rest before it is filled to cans, KEG´s and
bottles. The level in the tank should not
exceed a special maximum because of the
risc of overspilling.
The Micropilot is able to calculate level in
the fermentation tank and the volume
inside the tank in liters or hectoliters.
In a typical installation, the microwave sensor Micropilot is mounted at the top of the silo via
a flange.
Process conditions:
Media: bright beer
Pressure: up to 4 bar
Temperature: -2 ... + 5°C
Meas. range: 0 ... 40 m
Highlights:
• Continuous measurement
The Micropilot sensor is based on the microwave principle which is able to measure the
level in silos without any influence by parts inside the tank.
• Easy adaption
The Micropilot can be adopted at the tank with a variety of hygienic process connections.
