Supply List for T-Shirt Quilting Class
The following items are contained in each T-Shirt Quilt Kit in the size, quantity, and brand noted. Other
items you will need or will find helpful, but are not included, are noted at the end.
Fabric

Quantity for quilt: 2 panels, each 45 inches wide x 72 inches long. Quilting fabrics are typically 45 inches
wide. One panel will be the front and one will be the back.

Special Instructions: Wash WITHOUT fabric softener. Fabric softener prevents fusibles from adhering to
the fabric, and cotton fabric s are treated with a product that keeps them from wrinkling, but also prevents
the fusible from adhering. So you have double trouble ahead if you don’t wash your fabrics!

Stabilizer: 3 yards of SF101PWHT —Pellon Shape Flex Woven Cotton Interfacing - SF101PWHT. This is an
iron-on fusible used to keep your T-shirts from stretching. It is available at JoAnn Fabrics.

T-Shirts

Quantity: 10-15 per panel, depending on designs on your T-shirts and how you lay them out on your quilt.

Special Instructions: Wash WITHOUT fabric softener. Fabric softener prevents fusibles from adhering to
the fabric.
Pressing Cloth:
 This can be an old pillowcase, sheet or other cotton fabric. Put it over the top of your T-shirt
design when you fuse it to the quilt top. This will prevent the ink on the T-shirt design from
melting on to your iron.
 Optional, but very handy: Nonstick Pressing Sheets (silicon or Teflon)- available at Jo-Ann’s or
online. These prevent fusible residue from sticking to your iron or ironing board. Or Baking
Parchment Paper can be used instead of a pressing sheet.

 Optional: Rotary cutter, cutting mat, ruler.
 Iron cleaner: To clean any fusible material off of your iron
Sewing machine!
