Temple High School THEATRE DEPARTMENT 5A High School • Temple Texas Li’l Abner Birdie T he theatre program at Temple High School gave me the foundation of knowledge I needed to get into a good school and succeed in college. Every day I find myself using things I learned in high school, and I’m ahead of most of my peers in terms of knowledge and work ethic because of what I gained under Mrs. Tolleson. I am confident that I will continue to succeed because of the advantage I was given by having her as my teacher. — Robert Bastron, UCLA Anything Goes Natasha Tolleson Temple High School Theatre Department 415 North 31st Street • Temple, TX 76504 Office 254-791-6331 • Home 254-773-5960 [email protected] Thespian Troupe website — www.ThespiansR.us JANUARY 2005 TIONS C U D O R P T SOME PAS The Miracle Worker Baby with the Bathwater The Crucible Camelot The Wiz Piece of My Heart FFERED O S E S R U O C TY THE FACILI TROUPE N A I P S E H T Introduction to Theatre Acting 1-3 Directing 1-3 Dramatic Design 1-4 The facility includes a 52'×40' proscenium stage with a 1600-seat house. By the time I went to Emerson College in Boston, I was surprised to find how my high school training had given me such a huge head start over many other theatre majors. Natasha Tolleson and her program are the reasons I am a working actor today. It is the one gem that sets Temple High apart from other schools, and it is the reason I have a passion and a life today! — Anne Adams, Steppenwolf Theatre Company A Christmas Carol hen I have an opportunity to work with the Temple High Theatre Department, I consider it an honour, as I am surrounded by a loving family of professionals with an incredible sense of integrity in their craft and self-discipline in their work. — Tal Lostracco T he Temple High Theatre Department instilled within me a passion for theatre. I learned what it was to work on and perform something that is true, real and important. I am currently an acting major at Emerson College, and I would not be here today if it were not for this theatre department and everything it taught me. — Paul Brindley, Emerson College International Winner Set Design 2004 — H aving retired from teaching theatre for many years, I couldn’t have picked a better place to settle than Temple because it’s here that Natasha Tolleson teaches and directs the best high school theatre around. Her students are exposed to more theatre that those in most colleges, and graduate on to some of the best colleges in America. Anyone not afraid of hard work won’t find a better place or a more knowledgeable and helpful colleague. — Ray von Rosenberg Anything Goes The Trojan Women West Side Story Bette & Boo The Wiz The Insanity of Mary Girard
