












To be able to find out how much change would be
give and solve problems relating to money

shapes according to their properties

non-unit fractions of a shape

The children will be writing in a range of styles while
learning about Florence Nightingale and the impact her
life has had upon modern health care. They will be
writing:

Persuasive arguments
They will be focusing upon:

demarcating sentences with the correct
punctuation

Writing in past and present tense

Using specific adjectives and noun phrases to
describe

Using a range of conjunctions to link ideas

Developing and maintaining diagonal and
horizontal joins

Science: Animals including humans
In connection with the impact Florence Nightingale’s life
has had upon modern health care, children will be :

Describing the importance for humans to exercise,
eating the right amounts of different types of food,
and hygiene.

Finding out about and describing the basic needs
of humans, for survival (water, food and air)
History
The children will be learning about Florence Nightingale
and the impact her life has had upon nursing and health
care today.
They will be developing the following skills:

Looking at evidence to give and explain reasons
why people in the past may have acted in the way
they did.

Understanding that there are reasons for why
people acted as they did in the past.

Using information I have found out about the past
to describe the differences between then and now.
Art:
The children will be creating portraits of Florence
