Aftermath Of WWI On Islam, The Catholic Church

AFTERMATH OF WWI ON ISLAM, THE CATHOLIC CHURCH,
RUSSIA AND EXPANSIVE GOVERNMENT
RaJean Vawter
With so many things happening all over the world, have you ever wondered what is going on and
why? According to a history buff/friend, history tends to run in 100 year cycles and 100 years
ago this summer, World War I began. A very deadly war, it changed not only the map of the
world but political and governmental systems. This paper is written to give you some basic
information from which you can draw your own conclusions and seek God as to how to pray.
Islam and the Roman Catholic Church
After WWI, boundaries between nations were arbitrarily changed by the Allies and entire nations
were formed. Many of the new nations are located in the former Ottoman Empire. Since Islam
(the religion of the Ottoman Empire) incorporated all ethnic groups as long as they adhered to the
teaching of Mohammed, animosity against the West grew. By 2014, the 100 th anniversary of the
beginning of WWI, that animosity has escalated into both violent jihad and what is known as
cultural jihad (taking over a country by stealth from the inside). For the first time in history, the
confederacy of nations against Israel prophesied in Psalm 83:5-8 has been formed.
Another interesting phenomenon is taking place that few understand how deep the roots go. And
that is the connection between Islam and the Catholic Church.
An ex-Jesuit priest, Alberto Rivera, claims that the Vatican is the one who “created Islam.”

I could find no corroborating validation for this theory but did find that Catholics did, indeed,
have a great influence on Mohammed. By the 6th century, the Catholic Church was struggling
within itself between the Eastern and Western church as well as with the rising popularity of true
Christianity. The Church had already set itself up as anti-Semitic as can be seen in the results of
the Nicene Council in 325 AD at which Messianic church leaders were purposefully not invited
and during which the Hebrew calendar with God’s festivals were replaced by tying biblical
events to pagan festivals. (A descendent of the clergyman delegated to determine who should be invited to this
council repented publically for her ancestor the weekend of Passover, 2014.)
Born in about 570 AD Mohammed was orphaned at an early age; he was raised under the care of
his paternal uncle Abu Talibat. Augustine became the Bishop of North Africa and was effective
in winning Arabs to Roman Catholicism. His monasteries were used as bases of operation to gain
information about non-Catholics, control the idol-worshippers and burn the Bibles of Believers.
At the same time, the Vatican desperately wanted Jerusalem because of its religious significance.
But they were blocked by the Jews. So, as the story goes, they came up with the idea of looking
for an Arab “Messiah” or prophet who would capture Jerusalem for the Pope and come against
the Jews and true Christians. Islamic tradition states that when Mohammed was either nine or
twelve, he met a Christian monk named Bahira who is said to have foreseen Mohammed's career
as a prophet of God. Was this monk one of those who were sent by Rome to prepare the people
for such a messiah? In 595 Mohammed married Khadijah, a 40-year-old widow whose cousin,
Waraqah ibn Nawfal became his advisor. Both were devout Roman Catholics. In Mohammed’s
intensive training that followed, he studied the works of St. Augustine and learned that Jews and
true Christians were his enemies. When he began to have his “visions,” he was initially
distressed. But Khadijah and Waraqah consoled, reassured and helped him interpret the visions
out of which came the Koran. Mohammed himself could not read.) According to Rivera, The Vatican
helped to finance the building of massive Islamic armies in exchange for three favors:
1. Eliminate the Jews and Christians (the latter were regarded as true believers, which they
called infidels)
2. Protect the Augustinian monks and Roman Catholics
3. Conquer Jerusalem for the Vatican
Whether this is true or not, as time went by, the power of Islam became tremendous. Jews and
true Christians were slaughtered, and Jerusalem fell into their hands. Though they are now, at
this time, Roman Catholics were never attacked, nor were their shrines. But the Moslems refused
to give the Pope Jerusalem when they acquired it. Instead, the Arab generals had such military
success that nothing could stand in the way of their own plan. Under Waraquah’s direction the
biblical story of Abraham offering Isaac as a sacrifice to God was changed to Ishmael as the
sacrifice. As a result, the Dome of the Rock was built in Ishmael’s honor on the site of the
destroyed Jewish temple and Moslems have celebrated the sacrifice of Ishmael ever since. (We
inadvertently entered such a celebration in Tiberius a few years ago.) There has since remained a love/hate
relationship between Moslems and Catholics and an agreement concerning the Jews as seems
apparent in the Inquisition, the Crusades, St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre, Pope Ratzinger
giving Hitler a salute, Pope John Paul II kissing the Qur’an, etc., etc.
Now, fast forward to 2014, the 100th anniversary of WWI which destroyed the Ottoman Empire.
The Moslems have never been delivered from their anger and bitterness about the destruction of
their empire as a result of that war and there has not been a generally-accepted "Caliph" since.
(The title of "Caliph" is applied to the only legitimate successor to the Prophet Mohammed.) Angry Islamic
fanaticism has increased to the point that the radical Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria
(ISIS) just proclaimed itself an Islamic Caliphate with Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as the “Caliph.”
They made this proclamation the day after the 100th anniversary of the spark that started WWI.
Was this by accident? This proclamation also contains the warning that all other branches of
Islam must fall in line with them or become enemies as they conquer the world for Allah.
At the same time that ISIS is growing in power, it appears that the Vatican is making an attempt
to undo the authority taken away from them during WWI also. The 1915 Treaty of London
included secret provisions whereby the Allies agreed to ignore papal peace moves. The Vatican
has been trying to re-establish their authority over nations ever since. Is it, therefore, a
“coincidence” that while ISIS has been growing in power, the Vatican is trying to take center
stage in bringing peace as was not allowed during WWI?
Just recently, the Pope invited Moslem, Orthodox Jew and Christian leaders to the Vatican to
pray together under the assumption that they all worship the same god. (Some have called this the
“abomination of desolation.) On another occasion, he hosted leaders within evangelical/charismatic
groups. The same weekend as the ISIS announcement, it was made public that Pope Francis had
ordered the first ever art exhibit to promote Chrislam. This coincides with the commencement of
“The House of One” – a Temple of Chrislam for One World Religion in Berlin.
Russia
Russia experienced a similar shrinking of her borders as a result of WWI. At the end of the war
Russia was involved in a civil war as well as a terrible famine as a result of the country’s
inadequate infrastructure for war. The entire nation suffered in every area – politically, socially
and economically. The changes to her territory made matters worse. She has been fighting to
regain that lost territory ever since for the sake of power as well as resources. Since WWI Russia
(The Soviet Union) has occupied or re-occupied Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Armenia (except for some
Georgia, and Azerbaijan. Other areas have been lost to Russia ever since
and there has been tension in the Balkan regions that continues to this day.
areas captured by Turkey),
After Perestroika and the collapse of the Soviet Union under Mikhail Gorbachev and the
reunification of Germany in 1989, Russia has been humiliated. Vladimir Putin, the current
Russian leader, has bemoaned the end of Russia’s empire and power, calling it a “genuine
tragedy” in 2005. His current advance into Crimea is simply an effort to restore what was once a
part of Russia from 1783 to 1954 as part of an effort to establish a Eurasian Union.
Government Expansion in the United States
We’ve already seen how Islam, the Vatican and Russia are striving for greater power, authority
and/or prestige and influence. Here in the United States, that same power-hungry spirit is
manifested in the area of government expansion. Yes, humanism, socialism and communism
have all played a part in this expansion. Much has already been written about these aspects so I
won’t duplicate the effort. But the underlying spirit is the need for authority. This spirit is antiSemitic and goes all the way back to Satan when he declared, “I will” five times. (Isaiah 14:12-15)
He fell from heaven and all entities repeating his arrogance have and will fall also. It may be
simplistic but government expansion in the U.S. really is a result of our fall from the favor of
God because of our denial of Him and the rebellious “I will” spirit.
Expansive government began with Nimrod, the Tower of Babel, and can be seen in many other
Old Testament kingdoms and secular history through the ages. In modern history, we’ve seen the
same intrusive governmental attempts to rule private lives and vast territory in Germany, Russia,
China, Great Britain and Islamic nations. Is America exempt? Even before WWI, the desire for a
one-world government was talked about and secretly planned. President Woodrow Wilson had
such in mind when he pushed for the League of Nations at the end of WWI. Though it failed, it
set the stage for the United Nations. U.S. presidents and other leaders have publically called for a
One World Government for decades. Some of these include Robert Kennedy, George Bush, Sr.,
Henry Kissinger, Al Gore, Walter Cronkite, David Rockefeller, Barack Obama, Strobe Talbott
(Deputy Secretary of State under Bill Clinton) and George McGovern. When it comes to intrusive and
expansive government, truly “there is nothing new under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
So where does that leave us today and what will happen next? Will Sunni and Shiite Moslems set
aside their differences and together wage war against the world of non-Moslems? Will the West
continue to intervene in this “family” battle? How will the Roman Catholic Church figure into
the political battle between East and West and between true Christianity which is based on
relationship with Jesus, and religion of all kinds? (The Church has always had a mixture of true Christians
and those with a religious/political spirit.) How does this play into big government? And finally, how do
we pray about this? These are all questions that we must watch and pray about.
Suggestions for how to pray.
In the Scriptures, the word "nations" is used in the sense of “peoples” or ethnic groups rather
than nation states. As we’ve already seen, much of what is going on in the Middle East and the
former Soviet Union is more than greed, pride and wrong theology. It is backlash from man’s
attempt to draw the boundaries of nation states after WWI which put warring tribal and religious
groups in the same nation and divided united groups into different states. The Kurds are an
obvious example of this but there are others.
1. Pray that the boundaries of the nations will come into alignment with God’s original
master plan. (Deuteronomy 32:8-9)
2. Pray that our leaders be influenced by the Lord regarding involvement in all battles.
(Proverbs 21:1)
3. Pray against unholy alliances. (2 Corinthians 6:14)
4. Pray for the church to wake up, pay attention to what is going on and look to scripture for
guidance as to how to pray and what to do. (1 John 5:14-15)
5. Pray in the Spirit concerning all religious groups and their involvement in Chrislam or
any other effort to construct the One World Religion.
6. Pray for individuals – friends, relatives and members of Christ-centered churches – to not
become deceived into accepting Chrislam or any part of a one-world religion.
(Deuteronomy 11:16)
7. Pray that all true Believers will begin to come out from under the spiritual authority of
apostate national and international denominations – including Catholicism. (2 Corinthians
6:17)
8. Pray for every person of every nation to hear the Gospel so they can make a valid
decision. (Mark 16:15)
9. Pray that all end-time events will happen in God’s timing, not the rushed-up timing of
Satan who doesn’t want the end-time harvest to come in.
10. Call forth the power of God to rule and over-rule in all the earth. (1 Chronicles 29:11)
Information about Chrislam.
Chrislam is a relatively new, up-and-coming, formal, religion. It originated in Nigeria. It has two branches, one of
which was founded in the 1980s and one in 1999. In both cases it was created in an effort to bring about religious
tolerance between Christians and Moslems. One of the founders wants to conquer the world in the name of
Chrislam, but the other founder is content to wait for the world to accept his religion. According to Sidney M.
Greenfield, who wrote the book, Reinventing Religions: Syncretism and Transformation in Africa and the Americas,
Chrislam is a logical product of the Yoruba people because they want to be able to work out their own destiny.
Because the people of Nigeria are struggling in all areas of life and Chrislam offers miracles and deliverance they
see this as a good spiritual way to help them get through every day living.
Chrislam has come to America and is gaining adherents here. Since there is such wide-spread ignorance about
Islam in the US, people seem to fall into one of two camps.
1.
2.
Fear of Islam because of the violent nature of the religion.
The "Let's embrace everyone" group.
The fear group is threatened by anyone attempting to reach out to Moslems to bring them into the true
knowledge of Jesus Christ Who is both Lord/God and Messiah with no compromise with Islamic teaching. We
need to be careful about labeling but on the other hand, we need to be aware that this is, indeed, a very real,
up-and-coming movement. It is liable to grow quickly among the politically correct as well as among Christians
who are deceived and those searching for truth and not hearing it in "Christian" churches.
