our story.
Frey Farms is a Certified Woman Owned Business founded by Sarah Frey in
1992. Today Sarah Frey-Talley, her four brothers, and a dedicated team operate
farms and facilities strategically located in Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Arkansas,
Illinois, Indiana, and West Virginia.
Our multi-state growing operations specialize in the growing, packing, and
shipping of fresh market produce including watermelons, cantaloupes, sweet
corn, pumpkins, fall ornamentals, and hard squash. We have grown to be one of
the nation’s largest pumpkin farms.
In addition to fresh produce items, Frey Farms offers a diverse line of natural
home décor products including scented and painted pine cones, seasonal
wreaths, decorative straw bales, potpourri, and more.

food safety.
Frey Farms recognizes both its responsibility to provide safe products to our
customers, and the importance of fresh fruit and vegetables to the public
health.
In keeping with this standard, all of our farms and facilities are audited annually
by third-parties under the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) standards, and
we have a dedicated Director of Food Safety who continuously monitors our
operations, conducts random in-house audits, and verifies our protocols.
We strictly adhere to the FDA Guide to Minimize Microbiological Food Safety
Hazards for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, the FDA Commodity Specific
Guidelines for the Melon Supply Chain, and the National Cantaloupe
Guidance Document. We are also a founding member of the Eastern
Cantaloupe Growers Association (ECGA).

sweet corn.
Our bi-color sweet corn is grown on our farms in Arkansas, Missouri, and
Indiana using varieties that we have selected for the very best flavor and
sweetness. We hand pick and pack in traditional wire-bound crates or in RPCs
(Returnable Plastic Containers). We have also developed a unique 6-pack
sleeve for enhanced retail presentation.
As soon as our corn is picked it is rushed to our Distribution Centers located
within minutes of each field, and hydro-cooled to quickly remove field heat
which arrests the conversion of sugars to starch. This ensures that our corn
arrives at retail as sweet and fresh as the day it was picked.

hard winter squash.
Winter squash is actually grown in the late summer and fall and then stored for
the winter. It is generally cooked before eating.
Winter squash is a low-calorie, good source of complex vegetable carbohydrates
and dietary fiber. It is an excellent source of vitamin A, a great source of vitamin C,
potassium, dietary fiber and manganese, and a good source of folate, omega 3 fatty
acids, vitamin B1 (thiamin), copper, tryptophan, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin
B3 (niacin) and vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid). It is also a source of iron and beta
carotene. Usually, the darker the skin is, the higher the beta carotene content.

Ted’s Seasoning Rubs.
Ted’s seasonings originated from generations of American farm family cooking
and entertaining. Inspired by a desire to capture the essence of fresh from-thefarm flavors, we have developed seasoning combinations that feature unique
blends of aromatic herbs and other simple ingredients.
These combinations generate natural flavor explosions that enhance the fresh
foods that are produced in America’s heartland.
Whether it’s grilled, pan fried, roasted or sautéed, our spices add depth to the
natural savory flavors of beef, poultry, pork, or vegetables, and can also be
used on a fresh morning omelet, on potatoes, or even in a salad.
