Religious Ed. Gift Baskets

Christmas Faire 2016:
Religious Ed. Gift Baskets
Thank you so much for supporting our Christmas Faire. It
is a major fundraiser for the parish. What you are doing is
very important. Our fair weekend is Nov. 18 & 19. We hope
all will attend and enjoy !
Let us know . . .
If you could send us an email with your name, group, basket theme, and approximate
value as soon as you know, it helps us to set up. Email: Helen Politano at
[email protected] or Rosalee Scozzari at [email protected]

Concept
Each CCD class (or grade) builds a gift basket to be raffled at our
Christmas Faire.
 What To Do Each student is asked to bring an item that goes with their
theme. It would be nice for each to student to contribute a $5.00 item. Or,
several students may want to pool money for the purchase of a gift certificate or
larger item for a basket. Ex: the basket themed “Run Like the Wind” might
include some smaller items like protein bars and Vitamin water and a gift
certificate to Dick’s for a larger item.
 Two Classes Two classes can work together to provide a basket, especially
if the theme might run a bit pricier, like Legos.
 Container Feel free to use a basket or container you already own. Other
inexpensive ideas: a sturdy gift wrapped box, a plastic container with handles
from the Dollar Store. Feel free to be creative. Container can be part of the gift.
I’ve seen an LLBean tote used and a cooler with wheels!

Cellophane

Tied-on Tag
The Dollar Store has large cellophane bags into which you
can place the basket once filled. Please affix a bow or ribbons too. Would
be nice to match the theme. Ex: Celtics basket would use green and
white.
Identify the theme of your basket, your class’s name, and an
estimate of the total cost of your basket. Nothing fancy. An index card or gift
tag works well.
 Drop Off Ideally, your basket should be in the Parish
Office before Nov. 15th.

Basket Themes
Pinterest has some great ideas. We hope the following help too. Feel free to use any of these
or use them as a jumping off point. Our goal is to have a wide variety. The more variety, the
more raffle tickets we sell. The baskets are always a big hit! Thanks again.

together then maybe a Lego set with
other inexpensive Lego-themed items
like people or Lego pencil case at
Staples.
Think little kids and what they love:
Matchbox cars, Thomas the Tank
Engine, etc. Maybe a car air freshener
for mom & dad with carwash gift
certificates.
Plus any baseball related items
Plus any football related items
Plus any basketball related items
Plus any hockey related items
Cards, Charades, Twister, Boggle, etc.
Small gardening items like bulbs, trowel,
and gloves but also anything with
flowers on it.
Good candidate for two classes to go in
on. Small camping items, set of 3 golf
balls, sunblock, protein bars, pooled
money for REI gift card?
Lotions, soaps, candles, nail polish,
slipper socks, etc.
Need we say more???
For runners: moisture-wicking socks,

vest, water bottle, pooled money for
Sports Authority gift card?
Hot chocolate, marshmallows, popcorn,
DVDs (Walmart has $5 ones), fleece
blanket (I’ve seen them for less than
$10.)
