Andrei is a native Russian speaker and a professional solo and orchestra musician. He started his music studies at the age of ten (Bassoon, Piano, Conducting, Music Composition, Chamber and Orchestra playing) at the Ryazan State Music School-Lyceum and continued at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, Russia and at Ball State University, Muncie, IN. He is a winner of numerous International competitions for woodwind instruments and has appeared as a Soloist with Russian and American Orchestras. He is currently a member of Chicago Civic Orchestra and regularly plays with symphony orchestras in Chicagoland, Indiana and Ohio. He enjoys cooking, traveling and sports. He loves to spend time with his baby and share his knowledge of music with his students and friends. Daniel is a music instructor and performer. Teaching music is his life-long passion. His musical awakening happened at the age of 16, when he discovered the guitar. Throughout his teenage years, Daniel worked diligently to cultivate a firm understanding of music and its components. He is known for giving deep, energetic performances before a live audience, but he is patient and empathetic when teaching. He believes that music is a timeless art that is passed on from generation to generation. He enjoys sharing his understanding of music with his students. DAREEN: ARABIC. Dareen was born and raised in Damascus, Syria ANA JAPANESE, VIOLIN, PIANO, GUITAR. Adriana began selfteaching herself Japanese at a very young age, and studied it formally for four years. In elementary school, Adriana started violin when she was 7 years old and played throughout high school and was considered one of the best in her orchestra. She is currently majoring in Fashion Business. Adriana has created strong relationships with both her former Japanese teachers and many exchange students who live in Japan, giving her the opportunity to always learn the latest trends of the Japanese language and keep up her fluency through their frequent Skype coversations. Her internships and leadership roles at the Montessori Language Academy in Forest Park and the Oak Park Art League have given her valuable experience with children that has helped her become an effective teacher and mentor. TUTORING. Faith has been involved with music her entire life, studying Piano, Voice and Guitar over the course of her childhood and adolescence. A native of Michigan, Faith was thrilled to pursue post-secondary music studies at the School of Music, Theatre and Dance at the University of Michigan, one of the most highly ranked music programs in the nation. She began teaching privately during her time as an undergrad and completed her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with K-12 Music Education Certification in 2013. She is now settled in Oak Park with her husband Carl and terrier, Max. where she got her B.S. In Mass Communications from Damascus University. She has several certificates in her field of study – including two certificates from Radio Monte Carlo, France, and one from Reuters News Agency. She has written for many Syrian newspapers as well as Arab Gulf Newspapers across the Middle East. She moved to the U.S. about 3 years ago and lives with her husband and daughter in Chicago. Her husband is a Police Officer of Persian and Syrian descent. He speaks English, Arabic and Persian. Dareen started teaching Arabic at Damascus University and has taught at several institutions in the Chicago area. She hopes to continue pursuing her career as an Arabic teacher by starting Arabic conversation clubs for students of diverse backgrounds. ANTHONY: GUITAR, PIANO, VIOLIN, CELLO, MUSIC COMPOSITION, TUTORING FOR READING. Anthony is a composer in the Classical Tradition. He teaches with an emphasis on music theory, practical demonstration and cultivation of the student's creativity. Anthony involves students in reading music, as well as showing them how to write their own musical ideas. Anthony is interested in putting together a chamber string group of LMS students. David holds a BA from Florida Atlantic University in Music Performance for Classical/Flamenco Guitar. He has been teaching music since 2001, which included teaching at "A Major Music" in FL. And "The Music Factory" in Costa Mesa, CA. He believes in building a strong foundation (scales, chord vocabulary, etc.) but also bases lessons upon student's interests. David performs & records with a local choir, & with the Rock-Band 3D. Many of his students have won I.M.A. Trophies. David is interested in putting a Rock Band together of LMS students. Raul has taught Guitar and Music Theory to students at Holy Name Cathedral High School, and given private Electric, Acoustic, and Bass Guitar instruction since 2005. He worked for 4 years with the Old Towne School of Folk Music in concert promotion and public relations and has served as Coordinator for the annual Old Towne Folk & Roots Festival. Rebecca was born in Chennai, India and was raised in Oak Park, IL. She frequently visits India and loves to explore the culture. She is fluent in two Indian languages and is learning a third one. She believes that students should be encouraged to pursue their interests & her classes would be structured around the student's needs. Valerie has studied Violin with the Haag-Suzuki Institute and is trained in the Suzuki Method. Her influences derived from Jazz and Blues Musicians, Classical Composers, and Classic Rock. She played in many bands, was featured in and recorded on several albums, and sang back up vocals in the Los Angeles area. While apart from her college wind ensemble, The LA Winds, she performed on Trombone in France and Luxembourg. With her mother being a Special Educator, Kelsey learned Sign Language and worked for a Middle School, assisting students of All Abilities and Disabilities. Upon moving to Chicago with her husband in 2014, she took time to focus on her passion as a freelance Musician/ Composer. Maria has been teaching since 1985 and is Co-Author and Seminar Leader for LMS First Steps in SpanishTM Music-Based Foreign Language Curriculum. Dagmara started to play Piano at the age of 5. She studied Piano, Music Theory and History, Choir and Harp for over 19 years in Poland and the U.S.A. She graduated from The Chicago Academy for the Arts and Conservatory of Music in Krakow. She has been teaching Piano privately for over 10 years and she taught for several years at the Professional School of Music in Poland. She speaks, writes and reads fluently in Polish and English. She is the mother of two children, loves the outdoors and running. Her daughter plays Flute, Piano and loves to be on stage. She had three years of experience as a Kindergarten Teacher in Peru and about the same as Director/Lead Teacher in Chicago (USA).
