This program teams the power of three great higher-educational institutions and ties them together for easy transfers. It’s convenient because MCC’s five campuses cover the area, and both Western and UMKC offer courses at the Platte County Resource Center. Every step of the way goes through accredited Missouri-supported institutions of higher education. THE SECOND STEP: Western You’ll enroll as a junior at Missouri Western State University where two more years will earn you a bachelor’s THE FIRST STEP: Metropolitan Community College degree. The first two years at MCC give you a smooth transition from high school THE THIRD STEP: University of Missouri - Kansas City You can take your bachelor’s degree to UMKC, spend two years, and leave with your master’s degree. SCHOLARSHIPS PAVE THE WAY. 2+2+2 MCC SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS Metropolitan Community College offers dozens of scholarships and grants. MCC is part of the A+ program that can cover most of the college costs of qualified students from A+ designated high schools. WESTERN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS Western students who have completed 60 hours at a junior or community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better are eligible for the Community College President’s Scholarship. The award is restricted to fulltime students entering Western for the first time. The scholarship must be used in the student’s first four regular semesters (excluding summer sessions) of full-time attendance (semesters need not be consecutive). The student must maintain a 3.5 gpa or better each semester to remaining eligible. The scholarship totals $3500 per year. equals a great career! 1 Attend Metropolitan Community Colleges and earn an associate’s degree with an emphasis in teacher education in 2 years. 2 Transfer to Missouri Western State University and earn a bachelor’s degree in as little as 2 years. 3 Then attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City and earn a master’s degree in 2 years.
