Magical Winter Lights Teacher Information Packet
3rd - 8th grade packet
General Information for Teachers
Welcome! We’re glad you would like to come to Magical Winter Lights for your school
field trip! We hope you have a great time on your trip. In this packet, you will find a map
of the event grounds, worksheets for students, and an FAQ sheet.
Worksheets: Student worksheets are designed to give the students the opportunity to
learn basic information about the famous locations and exotic animals they will see
depicted in the detailed lantern sets. The fill in the blank worksheet will send students
on a fact finding mission to learn important information about famous locations and
animals found in our world. By searching the descriptions found at each lantern set,
students will be able to pick out the info they need while getting a tour of the world, all
from inside of Magical Winter Lights. We hope you enjoy your time!
Tour Format: Trips are self-guided, and a map of the event grounds is included in this
packet for your convenience. After arriving and being admitted to the event by a Magical
Winter Lights staff person, you will be responsible for your group as you explore the
exhibits. We ask that you please stop the children from crossing any barriers set up in
the event grounds as well as help the children refrain from touching any lantern set that
is not explicitly designed to be interactive.
Lunch during Field Trips: Trips are welcome to come during normal lunch periods,
however, food is not provided at the Magical Winter Lights grounds outside of our
normal daily operating hours. That said, we do have facilities where students can sit
down to eat lunch, and we welcome students to bring food to enjoy during their school
trip to Magical Winter Lights.
Dino Area: Included at Magical Winter Lights festival is a special dinosaur exhibit area,
we hope you will enjoy walking through this area on your school trip. You are free to
arrange your tour of the event grounds in whatever order you want, but we recommend
you finish your trip in this area. In the Dinosaur Land area, there is an activity tent with
fun, interactive exhibits. While not all activities in the tent will be available for the
students during the daytime hours, we encourage you to stop in this tent to have some
fun with your group.
