THE WIZARD OF OZ: THE STORY
In Kansas it was a sunny day and Dorothy
with her dog Toto, her uncle
Henry and her aunt Emmy were talking to each other in the garden.
Suddenly some dark clouds appeared in the sky and there was a storm with
thunders and lightnings. Finally there was a tornado which destroyed
everything. Dorothy flew and she lost Toto. Later she found herself in a
strange world where she met the good witch of the North, Glinda, and two
people called the Munchkins, who told her that her house killed the bad witch
of the East. She was frightened but she couldn’t do anything. Dorothy told
them that she wanted to return to Kansas, but Glinda couldn’t take her there.
So Glinda said that if she wanted to
return to Kansas she had to go to
the wizard of Oz. Dorothy went to
the Emerald City following a yellow
brickroad. On her way she met a
scarecrow that wanted a brain, a
tin man that wanted a heart and
finally a lion that wanted courage.
She took them with her to ask the
wizard
all
the
things
that
they
wanted, so they went to him.
At the Emerald City they met the
wizard, but he said that if they
wanted
to
have
their
wishes
granted, they had to kill the bad
witch of the West. On the way, Dorothy lost her friends, but she found the
witch and she killed her by mistake letting some water fall on her. Then
Dorothy found her friends and they returned to the wizard of Oz. He told
them that they had to come back the following day. They weren’t happy, so
they took the Wizard’s big floating face which revealed a man. He was the
guardian of the City and he explained to them that he was an ordinary man
and an inventor too, who arrived in that world from a hot air balloon. They
were sad and angry because they thought that their wishes wouldn’t come
true, but the man solved their
problems,
he
said
to
the
scarecrow that he had a brain
already
but
he
lacked
the
experience that he earned in
the journey, then he said to the
Tin man that he had already a
heart, but he had closed it
because he did not want to
suffer. Then he made the Lion
drink a potion of courage and
the lion found courage himself,
but the potion was coloured
water and the man said that he
lacked only his self- confidence.
Finally he took Dorothy with him on the hot air balloon, but suddenly he left
the ground before Dorothy could join him, so she was sad, but Glinda arrived.
Glinda explained to Dorothy that she could return to Kansas with her magic
slippers, so she said goodbye to everybody and she went to Kansas. Dorothy
found herself immediately in her house and her uncle and aunt told her that
she was dreaming and then they lived happily ever after.

THE WIZARD OF OZ: THE PLOT
Dorothy,
a
girl,
during
a
storm, loses consciousness and
finds herself lost in a magical
world. Once awakened, she is
told where to find Glinda, the
good witch. Dorothy asks how
to get home and she is given a
pair
of
magic
shoes
and
directions on how to find the
Wizard
of
Oz.
During
her
journey she meets a scarecrow
without a brain, a tin man
without a heart and a lion without courage.
Once they arrived in Oz, the wizard tells them that to fulfill their wishes, they
have
to kill the wicked witch of the west. Once they reach the enemy,
Dorothy is kidnapped by the witch who is then defeated by Dorothy thanks to
the shoes and a bit of cunning. Back to the magician, they learn that he
doesn’t have powers but thanks to a hot air balloon she can go home, but for
a mistake the balloon leaves without Dorothy and she is left alone with her
friends. Finally they understand they have everything they wanted. Dorothy
passes out and wakes up in her house, realizing that it was just a dream.

THE WIZARD OF OZ: THE PLOT
Dorothy is a girl from Kansas who lives with
her aunt and uncle in a country-house. During
a day, a tornado carries Dorothy and her dog
Toto to a fantastic world. There Dorothy finds
some new friends who help her to go to
Emerald City. There she meets the wizard of
Oz and she asks him to help her to go back to
Kansas. In retourn, she has to kill the bad
witch of the west. After she accomplishes that,
Dorothy returns to Kansas with a balloon.

THE WITCH OF THE NORTH: she helps Dorothy to come back home.
THE WITCH OF THE EAST: she is crushed by Dorothy’s home.
THE WITCH OF THE WEST: she is a bad witch.
