ROMAN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL Est. 1890 Student Services Information Transportation Philadelphia School District Google “SEPTA Regional Rail and Transit Map” for information on routes to and from Roman Catholic High School. Those students who live more than 1.6 miles from Roman Catholic are eligible for a Transportation-Pass (Trans-Pass) at no cost. Eligibility is determined by the School District of Philadelphia and distributed on a weekly basis by Roman Catholic’s Office of Student Services. This pass is acceptable on buses, subway and the El. Those students eligible for a Trans-Pass who choose to ride the trains can exchange the TransPass for a $16.75 credit on a Rail-Pass. The exchange can be made at the station where you purchase the Rail-Pass. Suburban School Districts Please check with your local school district for their policy regarding providing transportation or reimbursement for transportation. Those districts that provide transportation or reimbursement will be made aware of your son’s enrollment at Roman Catholic New Jersey We are not aware of any school districts that provide transportation or reimbursement for transportation. Listed below are means of transportation from selected areas. From the Camden area, use the Port Authority Transit Line. From the Deptford area, use New Jersey Transit. From the Mount Laurel area, use the Greyhound Bus Line. From the Sicklerville area, use New Jersey Transit From the Princeton area, use the West Trenton Rail Line Additionally, for the 2016-2017 academic year we will begin a partnership with St. Joseph’s Prep in which our students from New Jersey, at an additional cost, can ride on their buses coming to and from New Jersey. Direct any questions to Student Services: 215-627-1570 Ext. 132 or 135 Crisis Management Roman Catholic, in consultation with city authorities, has developed plans for any emergencies that might occur during the school day. Crisis Management Drills are held at regular intervals throughout the school year. Guidance Services A wide range of counseling services are offered. Included: college placements; college applications; financial aid for college; personal issues. Dress Code: Grooming Moustaches and beards are never permitted. Shirttails must be tucked inside the pants at all times. Earrings, necklaces, and body-piercings are never permitted. Exaggerated, extreme, fad hair styles or colors (e.g., ponytails, razor cuts in the hair, corn rows, braids, styles requiring rubber bands or elastics, or clips) are not permitted. If a student has a tattoo, it must be covered during the school day. Winter Dress Black, pleated dress pants. Purple or gray V-neck sweater with school seal / gray vest with school seal / or purple cardigan button-down sweater. Roman Anniversary tie with school seal. White Oxford cloth shirt, button-down collar; short or long sleeves. GBX black Oxford shoes. Socks (above the ankle). Black or brown leather dress belt. NOTE: Shoes must be purchased at DiGiulio’s Shoe Store (6948 Frankford Avenue – 215-3335512 – or any of their locations). The School Uniform must be purchased at Flynn & 0’Hara Uniform Company (10905 Dutton Road – 215-637-4600 – or any of their locations). Summer Dress School Sweater is optional, but the Oxford dress shirt is always worn with a tie. Golf Shirt, white or purple, with school logo may be worn without a tie. Golf Shirts are purchased at the School Store (215-627-1270 ext. 129). Cell Phones Cell Phones are considered contraband during the school day and must be turned off prior to arrival on campus. Use of the cell phone is not permitted until five minutes after eighth period. Use is defined as making, answering, or receiving a call or text message; checking the time; or using any other feature of the phone. Cell phones may not be visible during the school day.
