Dear Parents,
As we come to the end of the first semester of the 2016-2017 school year,
we have taken the time to monitor our students and have noted that many of our
students do not wear uniforms to school as requested on Mondays through Thursdays. We are a uniform wearing school and believe that when children wear uniforms, inappropriate behaviors are minimized and learning increases. As a public
school, we are not able to mandate that every student wear a uniform to school
each day. However, as a public school we are earnestly requesting that each student
wear a uniform to school every day—Monday through Thursday to increase our students’ level of learning, as well as to minimize poor behavior.
Our uniforms consist of the following: navy, black or khaki shorts, skirts,
skorts, jumpers or slacks belted at the waist. Girls may choose to wear blue-plaid
skirts or jumpers as a uniform. Uniform shirts are white, yellow, light blue, navy,
and gray and have a collar. Uniforms would make great gifts for this time of the
year and it will promote a sense of pride in being a proud Anderson-Livsey General.
Remember, students may wear their personal choice of clothing on Fridays. Beginning in January as the students return to school, each class will collect data on the
number of students in their uniform. At the end of the month of January, data will
be shared with our parents. Additionally, students who wear their uniform will earn
rewards.
Committed to ALES Students,
Janice W. Warren

Mark Your Calendars!
Our Fine Arts Night is scheduled for Thursday, May 11, 2017. Our Fine
Arts Night is an evening to focus on the Arts… Music, Art, and Drama!
This year, every student will have their artwork framed by
professionals and it will be available for purchase for $25.00. The
student’s artwork is being completed now to allow for adequate time for
teaching to take place with Ms. Hahn as well as for the creativity of each
student to develop and grow.
Your students will be proud of their product and will want to see it hanging
in their home. We can’t wait to see your faces when you see the artwork
made by our students! See you on Thursday, May 11th!
