BUSC – Way of Playing •  BUSC teams play 1:4:3:3 or 1:3:4:3 system in younger age groups
•  Older ages will also learn 1:4:2:3:1 (1:4:5:1) ,1:4:4:2 and 1:3:5:2
•  Our style of play is based on attacking soccer, wing play, and using
our goal keeper as a sweeper.

chances and press to win the ball back when we do not have it.
•  Play adventurous risk taking soccer
•  Play to win, no lose
The U-‐13/14 Academy Program will feature many of the current Academy clubs and select clubs from outside of the current Academy structure. The program will be based on the same philosophy as the older Academy age groups, featuring more training sessions, less games and more meaningful games. The competitive schedule will place a greater emphasis on local games due to the younger ages of the players and will also include a futsal component during the winter. The Pre Academy Team will consist of full time players and developmental players (DP). U13-‐U14 ACADEMY PUBLIC WEBINAR http://www.ussoccer.com/Teams/Development-Academy/U-13-14Program-Application.aspx
BUSC is committed to: • Personal Development Plan • Evaluation – Feedback • Minimum 2 Coaches per session/game the majority of the time Curriculum
The U13-‐U14 age group is in Stage 3 of Development which is described as Playing in Systems. Now it is time for the U14 teams to transfer the individual skill and small group lessons into the team game within the Defensive, Midfield and Forward Lines in both “We” have the ball (Offense) and “They” have the ball (Defense). Positional training and training within each line i.e. (Defenders -‐ Midfielders -‐ Forwards) will be a major focus area for each individual player’s development. Each player in the Pre-‐Academy will work off of a personalized player development plan. Academy players need to be highly motivated and committed to Soccer. This program trains 4x per week and 100% attendance is expected. TECHNIQUE
Teach and develop juggling, dribbling, running with the ball, 1vs1 attacking frontal, from the side and from behind, turning, short and long passing, and scoring with both sides of the body. Use skills more in the game situation and in relation to a position within the team concept and the BUSC way of playing. INSIGHT
Teach 1vs1 offense and defense and an individual role (position) while working together as a line (ie. defending line, midfield line, forward line). The focus will be on both We have the ball (offense) and They have the ball (defense). Teach working as a line. More emphasis on re-‐starts and interchanging positions and adapting to game situations and emphasizing cooperation between the lines. PERSONALITY Emphasize having fun, but playing 100% while developing players who have respect towards the sport, teammates, coaches and opponents. Players will be encouraged to have “confidence” with the ball and to make things happen with skill. Communication will be emphasized. Players will be encouraged to train on their own. SPEED Teach psycho motor skills and general coordination both with and without the ball and teach all necessary movements needed for technical skill advancement. **Additional payments of $225 per month for March-‐June 2014 will be required Kevin Crow
