7 inch vinyl, with original recording of you've pulled a gun on
me and the live recording of Electronic's 'Getting Away With
It' which was recorded at their sold out Ritz show in October
2015.
Formed by keyboard maestro Reg Dwight (later to transform
into Elton John of course) and his neighbour Stu Brown,
Bluesology found agency work as the hot-shot backing band
for visiting R&B acts from the USA, including The Isley
Brothers and Patti LaBelle. This blue-eyed soul rarity, their
first release for Fontana, featured Reg on piano and vocals
and hails from July 1965. Shortly afterwards Reg began cowriting with a budding lyricist named Bernie Taupin and the
rest is history. This £300+-rated 7” rarity comes reissued for
Record Store Day 2016 with reproduction original Fontana
label and bag.

While playing a benefit gig in Shepherd’s Bush in 1968,
Christy Moore would meet Irish author and songwriter
Dominic Behan, who took the young Moore under his wing
and helped bring about this classic folk debut album. Behan
wrote four of the 12 tracks and produced the album while
Moore collaborated on the music with a group of
accomplished pub jazz players brought together by folk
scene luminary Steve Benbow. Although released on the
major label Mercury only 500 copies were pressed, meaning
originals now command prices of around £400. Relive the

Following a temporary hiatus in his partnership with longtime lyricist
Bernie Taupin, Elton John turned to producer Thom Bell and the warm
sounds of Philly soul for his next step. Bell was already a name producer
for his work with some of the decade’s biggest R&B acts such as the
Spinners, the Stylistics and the Detroit Spinners and, while recorded in
1977, the fruits of their collaboration would not find an official release
until 1979 by which time Elton’s ever-restless muse had already moved
on. They were not, however, destined to languish in obscurity and by the
late 1990s copies of the original 12” of the sessions were changing hands
for silly money among house heads. In 2003 Ashley Beedle’s spirited remix
of the lead track ‘Are You Ready For Love’ gave Elton a much-deserved
Number 1 single. For Record Store Day 2016 they’re once again available
in all their full-length glory on this 2 track black vinyl release.

Gerhard Heinz is an Austrian composer, lyricist and pianist,
who composed many scores for B- and C-grade comedies
and sleazy soft-core action thrillers since the early '60s. He
was also highly-sought after for porn soundtracks. His music
can be typified as infectious Soul Jazz with Mod, Funk and
Disco flavors. Heinz composed over 130 scores for a wide
variety of films, including the obscure Seventies soft porn
flicks Schamlos, Geissel Des Fleisches and Lolita Am
Scheideweg, of which a selection of its ridiculously cool

Popularly referred to as “the first existential country song”,
Stuart Maconie has called ‘Wichita Lineman’ “the greatest
pop song ever composed”, its reputation further cemented
by its inclusion in Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest
Songs Of All Time. Written by Jimmy Webb and inspired by
the image of a solitary lineman atop a telegraph pole
observed while driving through rural Oklahoma during
sunset, the Glen Campbell’s version, released in 1968, would
go to number 3 in the US chart and enter the top ten in the
UK. In celebration of Campbell’s 80th birthday in April 2016,
we’re reissuing one his best-loved singles on red coloured 7”

While already considered one of THE seminal Detroit groups
of the era, The Isley Brothers’ ‘This Old Heart Of Mine’ was
their fourth studio album and their first for the legendary
Motown label. The majority was written and produced by
the unstoppable Holland-Dozier-Holland team and the title
track would go on to be the biggest hit of the Isleys’ early
period. It was followed by further hits with album cuts ‘Take
Some Time Out For Love’ and ‘I Guess I’ll Always Love You’
while to some soul heads, its versions of ‘Nowhere to Run’,
‘Stop in the Name of Love’, ‘Baby Don't You Do It’ and ‘I
Hear a Symphony’ are at least comparable (if not preferable)
to the originals. Reissued in its original form for RSD 2016 for
the album's 50th anniversary.

In the substantial roll call of James live shows, the
Greenpeace Palace concert has achieved an almost mythical
stature. The track ‘Ring The Bells’ was issued to the delight
of fans on the 1994 ‘Alternative NRG’ compilation on the
Hollywood label and the live version of ‘America’ that was
included as a B-side on their ‘Sometimes’ single (albeit
slightly remixed) is also believed to have been taken from
this performance although that has never been officially
confirmed. Otherwise this powerful 12 track acoustic
performance remains unreleased until now. The sleeve
features a portrait of the band by Kevin Westenberg and (on
the reverse) details from the requisite James tour booklet
and a review of the gig from the ‘James’ fanzine, written by
Christopher Zych and is released on a heavyweight
transparent vinyl with download code.

Norwegian indie folk duo Kings Of Convenience first rose to
prominence around the turn of the 21st century, coming at
the forefront of a loose movement of artists focussing on
subtle sounds and delicate musicianship. In fact, this
approach even informed their choice of title for the band’s
debut album ‘Quiet Is The New Loud’. A critical smash on its
appearance in early 2001, it was closely followed before the
year’s end by ‘Versus’, a compelling collection of remakes,
remixes and collaborations with a variety of cutting-edge
artists including Four Tet, Royksopp and Andy Votel. After
this burst of activity the duo explored other musical avenues
separately before coming back together for 2004’s ‘Riot On
An Empty Street’, which included two collaborations with

an improvised session between Berlin-based Japanese vibes
innovator Masayoshi Fujita and UK electronic producer Guy
Andrews that took place at the prestigious Maida Vale
Studios on October 26, 2015 for BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction,
presented by Nick Luscombe.
The debut RSD release from singer/ songwriter, and guitarist
Matt Wills, with his eclectic blend of acoustic pop, folk and
electronica – the Lost and Found EP. To celebrate the
release, which was originally digital only, the 4 track EP is
being re-released as a very limited run of standard black
vinyl for the first time. All the singles from the EP were
accompanied by hand drawn imagery and the release
features an exclusive etched black vinyl featuring the single
artwork of a compass. The EP sleeve features a vintage
picture of his parents – who inspired his journey into music.

Max has teamed up with British producer Daniel Boyle, who
had recently finished a long stint working with Lee ‘Scratch’
Perry on rekindling the Black Ark sound for a number of
releases, which culminated in the acclaimed & award
winning album ‘’Back On The Controls’’.Daniel’s vision for
the Max Romeo project was to take the rekindled Black Ark
studio set up, which he and Lee had created at Daniel’s
Rolling Lion studio in London, and blend a mix of the old and
new with it, to create a follow-on from War Ina Babylon. The
idea was to make a truly heavyweight roots reggae album;
driven by Max Romeo’s powerful and conscious lyrics.For
this project, Daniel and Max rounded up some of Lee Perry’s
old Upsetters line-up, including Vin Gordon on trombone,
Robbie Lyn on keyboards, and Glen DaCosta on saxophone,
blending these veteran Jamaican studio legends with
Daniel’s ever evolving ‘Rolling Lion All Stars’ session band, to
create a reggae super group, with some added input from
Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry himself on percussion, effects and
backing vocals.To complete the concept, Daniel connected
with Tony Wright, who was bought on to design and handpaint the cover art. Tony was responsible for hand painting
many famous album covers during the 1970s and beyond,
including Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Natty Dread, Lee
Perry’s seminal dub album Super Ape, Junior Murvin’s Police
and Thieves, Ijahman Levi’s Haile I Hymn, and many more…A
real blend of the old and then new. The concept was then
taken to Tony Wright, who designed the stunning artwork,
hand-painted in oils, taking the woman he featured on the
War Ina Babylon cover; and bringing her into our modern
day world—the real ‘Horror Zone.’

After his performance at the Opening Ceremony of the 2012
Olympic Games in London, Mike Oldfield surprised and
delighted fans when he returned after a six-year absence
from recording with Man On The Rocks, an album of highly
melodic rock songs made with the cream of LA session
musicians and up-and-coming vocalist Luke Spiller (from the
Struts). It was released to huge acclaim in March 2014. Six
months later, the powerfully poignant track ‘Nuclear’ – a
song about Oldfield’s grandfather’s experiences in the First
World War – was selected by director Hideo Kojima for
inclusion in the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2014 trailer
for computer game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
The track became an enormous word-of-mouth hit across
world streaming services. For RSD 2016, it is being released
on a strictly limited picture disc 7” single. Konami
Entertainment have granted an image from the game on the
A-side, while the flip features an exclusive still of Mike and
Luke taken during the filming of the ‘Sailing’ video in the
Bahamas in January 2014.

disowned by the band, Ocean Colour Scene burst back with
a vengeance four years later with ‘The Riverboat Song’.
Following its use as the theme tune to TFI Friday the track

Expressionist horror film. The film was an unauthorized
adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula. The film came to be
regarded as an influential masterpiece of cinema, as it is
Rotten Tomatoes' second best-reviewed horror film of all
time.The original score composed by Hans Erdmann has
been lost, and what remains is a reconstitution of the score
as it was played in 1922. James Bernard, composer of the
soundtracks of many Hammer horror films in the late 1950s
and 1960s, has written a score for a reissue. This particular
7” version contains audio performed in 1997 by The City of
Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Nic Raine.

Quincy Jones as an artist in his own right. Featuring the

Very rare in its original form, this will be the first time this
iconic record has been made available as a vinyl EP since its
first release more than half a century ago.
Following her support of RSD last year and ahead of her
much awaited debut album Nothing’s Real, Shura unleashes
Touch, her breakout track on a special baby pink coloured
12” for RSD 2016. A gossamer-light take on keening pop,
‘Touch’ arrived as if from nowhere: the first finished track
that Shura had ever written and produced, landing humbly
on the internet with a DIY video in which she convinced her
friends to kiss on camera. Having surpassed 30 million plays
and become one of the most enduring blog successes of

November 1978, Goodbye Girl was the first single to be
taken from their second album, Cool For Cats. One of Chris
Difford and Glenn Tilbrook's most enduring melodies,
Goodbye Girl has been held in high regard for years, and has
rarely been out of the group's live set. One of the few
Squeeze singles of that era NOT to be released in coloured
vinyl, that has been rectified for 2016, and this limited
edition comes in a glorious cover-matching yellow. Love for
Squeeze grows stronger year by year.

Formed in Birmingham in the year of 1967’s “Summer Of
Love”, Traffic brought together the incandescently talented
four piece of Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and
Dave Mason. Following the huge success of their debut ‘Mr
Fantasy’ they served up this self-titled blinder for their
second offering. A bewitching blend of ‘60s pop melodies,
blues-rock, folk and psychedelia, the 1968 set was produced
by Rolling Stones right-hand man Jimmy Miller. It’s being
reissued here in a strictly limited run (500 only for the UK)
for Record Store Day 2016.

Vorony is the second album by John Peel favourites The
Ukrainians. Originally a Wedding Present side-project, the
band mixed British post-punk indie guitars with fiddles,
accordion, mandolins and the musical styles of the
Carpathian mountains. Vorony is extended from 15 to 19

Born from the Too Pure label, notorious for releasing

mclusky, Mouse On Mars, Scout Niblett, Seefeel, Stereolab,
Th’ Faith Healers and more, the spirit lives on in the form
of the Too Pure Singles Club.
A monthly subscription, the Too Pure Singles Club release
a brand new 7” every month, limiting them to just 500
copies and lovingly hand numbering each one. Furthermore,
artists are given free reign to design their sleeve and the
colour of 7” as they please, helping to make every month’s
delivery to subscribers wildly different to the last.
Dedicated to working with the best of the underground,
among the Club’s first century were early releases from the
likes of The Crookes, Dead Skeletons, DZ Deathrays,
Esben & The Witch, Hookworms, Jeff The Brotherhood,

Founded by Ben Lovett (Mumford and Sons), Kevin Jones
(Bear’s Den) and producer Ian Grimble as a West London
clubnight in 2006, Communion has expanded into a record
label, live promoter and publisher in its 10 years of
existence. To kick off a year of celebrations for the
anniversary, Communion Records are releasing a limited
edition, 180gm black vinyl only album featuring the best of
the releases to come through the label so far on one
side, including artists such as Ben Howard, Catfish and the
Bottlemen and Daughter, with the best of what is to come
on the second side, featuring Matthew and the Atlas, Twin
Peaks and also includes the first release of new Bear’s Den
music since their breakthrough album Islands, in the form of
a live version of new track Red Earth and The Pouring Rain.

This 2-LP beauty comprises highlights from the recently
released double CD ‘Genius Of Time’, a selection of
productions and remixes from the inimitable, and much
missed, New York DJ Larry Levan. His name is intrinsically
linked with the city and all of the abandon and hedonism of
disco’s golden age - his sets at the legendary pleasure palace
The Paradise Garage are still talked about in hushed tones
by dance disciples to this day. Included on this limited vinyl
version include Levan’s reimagining of Grace Jones’s classic
‘Feel Up’ and David Joseph’s all-time funky floorfiller ‘You
Can’t Hide Your Love’. The release also includes a download
code for all 9 tracks.
Music has always been very important to film maker David
O. Russell (The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook, American
Hustle) and his latest film Joy is no exception, with featured
music ranging from Latin Jazz to hard bop to rock and roll
with The Rolling Stones, Cream and Alabama Shakes (with
Shakes’ vocalist Brittany Howard offering her take on
Cream’s classic “I Feel Free”.) Joining this eclectic line up are
3 tracks from the cast - Edgar Ramirez sings songs from
Randy Newman and Antonio Carlos Jobim then teams up
with Jennifer Lawrence on a duet of Frank and Nancy
Sinatra’s “Something Stupid.” Amongst these you’ll also find
the score by Blake Mills, Dylan Thordsen and David Campbell
(Beck’s dad!) which includes a simple piano take on
Springsteen’s classic “Racing In The Street.” Released on a
very limited blue double vinyl set.
