School Dress Code - Champaign Unit 4 Schools

Booker T. Washington STEM
Academy
DRESS CODE
BTW students are expected to observe the standardized dress code. We have adopted
this dress code and we, as a school community, believe that:
School uniforms have a positive effect on students and teachers.
By wearing school uniforms, the school environment becomes less competitive and lends
itself to being a place where students focus on learning.
School uniforms encourage individual self-expression
Students are encouraged to find way to express their creativity through the arts, music,
sports, personality and academic achievement versus through their attire.
School uniforms make morning easier!
Uniforms eliminate the need to argue over what to wear to school every day. Through
simplicity, uniforms promote time efficiency, organization, and neatness. As we work
toward a goal of 100% attendance, school uniforms will provide a boost to the morning
routine.
