2016 Iron Eagle Football
The Iron Eagles Football Team is a team for 7th-8th grade male students in the Charlottesville and surrounding
areas. The team will be built upon Christian values through daily devotions before each practice and through the
leadership of the coaching staff. In addition, the coaching staff will create a learner friendly practice environment in
which each athlete, regardless of experience level, will be able to properly and safely learn the game of football. The
team will play a 6-8 game schedule and practice three times a week throughout the season.
WHO CAN PLAY?

Male students in grades 7-­‐8 are eligible for the Iron Eagle football team.

FORMS REQUIRED:
The following forms are required for students to start participation.
• Full – Physical -­‐ Each participant must complete a full-­‐physical and term it in to the team’s coach on the first day of practice. Participation will not be allowed until the completed physical is turned in.
• Concussion Policy – Provided by the coach at the first practice.
• Liability Waiver – Provided by the coach at the first practice.
HOW MUCH TRAVEL & TIME COMMITMENT IS REQUIRED?
• The team will have a total of 4 football days each week. On game weeks the team will practice 3 days a week and play •

one game. On non-­‐game weeks the team will practice 4 days a week. After school practices will be from 5:00 to 6:30 on the Covenant Upper School Fields.
The team will play no more than one game a week during the season. The furthest the team will travel for a game is Richmond. The Covenant School will provide transportation for away games.
PARTICIPATION FEE:
Currently enrolled Covenant School Student -­‐ $175.00
Non-­‐Covenant Student -­‐ $200.00
What Does the Participation Fee Cover? • Game jerseys (H/A) and pants.
• Practice jersey and pants.
• Helmet, shoulder pads, mouth piece, and pant pads.
• Travel to away games.
What Does the Participant Need to Purchase?
• Participants provide cleats (preferably black).
