Do the Dewey Decimal
I
n 1873, Melvin Dewey invented the
Dewey Decimal system. This system is
used to categorize books in the library and is
still used today. The Dewey Decimal system
is all about numbers. Study the chart (at
right) which shows how the Dewey Decimal
System classifies books. Then write the title
of each returned book under the correct
Dewey Decimal heading to show where it
should be filed.
