Best of Tallahassee event celebrates the community’s best of the best, voted by our readers.
The top two businesses of over 100 categories will be announced live throughout the evening,
with an exclusive release of the November/December Best of Tallahassee issue of Tallahassee
Magazine. Enjoy a night of celebration with the Capital City’s top businesses and their teams.
Mix and mingle with the elite of the community while enjoying live music with culinary and
cocktail cuisine to remember.
An annual charity event, Tallahassee’s Top Salon competition hosts the most popular salons for a
night of makeovers, drinks, dancing, food and fun. The event challenges the talent and expertise of 13
top salons, nominated by the community, as they embark on a 24-hour makeover to transform their
models from head-to-toe. The models, local Tallahassee residents chosen by each salon, own the
runway as they take the stage and enter the spotlight to reveal their breathtaking transformations.
The true passion and talent of each salon is apparent, but in the end only one salon earns the title
of Tallahassee’s Top Salon. Another special component to the event is the Lifetime Achievement
Award given to an individual who has made a lasting impression on the salon industry.
The most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes, who were voted by the community, gather in late
summer for the hottest night of entertainment and fundraising, benefitting multiple charities — all
in one night. The Top Single’s experience will begin three months before the event, with each single
raising money for their chosen local charity. It culminates with a big reveal the night of the event,
announcing how much they’ve raised. Each single will be paired with a package that could include
anything from a beach trip to a round of paintball. The crowd then has the opportunity to choose
the single or charity they wish to support and bid on the single and their package.
In early spring all pets (and their people) are invited to this event, which benefits the Leon County
Humane Society. Pets of all shapes, sizes and breeds can have their photo taken with their human
and possibly be featured in Tallahassee Magazine’s July/August issue. The event will be packed
with some of LCHS’s most adoptable pets, vendors selling pet and human products, giveaways,
live music, art exhibits and demonstrations, as well as hands-on art activities for pets, kids and
adults! Humans can enjoy a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar and mimosa bar and brunch, while
your furry friends can enjoy a “puppy ice-cream bar.”
