DUES
There is much confusion concerning
dues. At the annual conference several
years ago, it was voted to change the year
to March 1st thru the end of Feb. Dues are
$10 per year. Please join and urge others
to join. We need your ideas to move into
the future.
It has been Proposed and Voted for at
the first Quarterly board meeting that we
would offer Membership at no cost for
first time applicants. We want our
membership to grow and this is one
method we hope will work. Renewal of any
membership will still be $10.00 per year
and those receiving the one year gratis
membership will still need to renew in
March each year at a cost of $10.00.

.
Greetings Fellow Hunter Education Instructors,
Hang on everyone, spring is coming. I am
looking forward to it. Our upcoming Conference
will be on March 3rd thru the 5th. Please plan to
attend. This will be one of our best. I keep
hearing (what does the MHEIA do for me??). It
is quite simple. We are the instructor’s liaison
with the MDC. We have fought keep the course
from being completely online for over 10 years.
We cannot fight the good fight without strong
membership. The more members we have, the
more clout we have. It the last 6 years we have
fallen from over 350 members to just 145
members. Please let your fellow members know
this!!! At our conference this year we will pay
$185.85 per person for meals. Your registration
does not come close to covering. This is just
another thing the MHEIA does for its members.
The upcoming Turkey season is coming soon as
is great fishing getting ready to start. We will be
holding upcoming elections at the conference.
Kansas City Region is one of them. I plan to
retire from Honeywell in May. I look forward to
having more time for Hunter Education, fishing,
hunting and maybe driving Bev crazy. If you are
looking to purchase some of our past year
patches and pins, contact me.
Be safe out there. Jerry
I hope everybody had a safe and prosperous
Holiday season and New Year. I am looking forward
to seeing any and all of you who can attend at this
year’s annual Conference the first weekend in March.
Find more information in this Newsletter.
We need to recruit more instructors into our Association.
For only $10 per year, this is the cheapest association
that you can join. So please, recruit your fellow
instructors who are not currently a member.
We are coming to the end of this year’s gun drawing so,
if you need tickets, contact your Board member.
A $20 donation for a chance to win 20 different
firearms. You are in each and every drawing, even if
you win one, you are still in the remaining drawings.
This is the start of a new year instructing and we are
seeing different challenges facing us. We, as an
Association, are working with MDC to try to keep
our role important. There are many other ways to
volunteer to help with the youth and others. Contact
your OSS to see where they need help.
See you in March at the Lake.
