I write in relation to your email of 9 October 2015 in which you have requested information regarding million pound
claims. Specifically, you have requested:
Please could you provide me with all claims where total damages were £1 million or more, using your most up to date
data? Please could the data be provided in the same format, eg. Trust name, outstanding damages, damages paid,
total damages, injury and speciality as the attached table, which was previously supplied to me.
Please state which financial years’ data has been included in the analysis.
The data in the tables you provided me with were up to 31 December 2014. Could you now answer the same
questions again but this time update the data to include cases finalised by 30th June 2015, or the closest convenient
date.
Your request has been considered under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please find attached an update of the tables provided to you in F/2255. This is accurate as of 30 September 2015,
and includes claims with an incident date on or after 1 April 1995. As before, where a Trust has a low number of
claims these details have been removed due to the potential re-identification of the individuals involved. This data is
considered exempt under Section 40 (personal data) of the FOI Act. These have, however, been included in the
overall totals.
