Charles Darwin’s Census Form
Charles Darwin (1809–1882) was a famous British
Scientist. He came up with the theory of “Natural
Selection” which aims to explain how life on earth has
evolved and changed over time. The very famous book he
wrote on this was called “The Origin of Species” published
in 1859.
On the following pages you will find a copy of his census form from April
1881, just a year before his death. The one on page 2 is the original,
followed by a copy of it on page 3, which is easier to read.
