Atomic Model Timeline
Directions: You will be creating an accordion foldable timeline to show the history and development of the atom.
The model and idea of the atom has changed drastically over time with many contributions and significant
discoveries by philosophers and scientists. You will need to use your notes from our discussions to create a
timeline that meets the following requirements.
1. Include the following 10 philosophers and scientists with the year and an explanation of their contributions
to the history of the atom on the timeline:

□ John Dalton
□ Niels Bohr
□ Aristotle
□ Democritus
□ J.J. Thomson
□ Plato
□ Erwin Schrödinger

□ James Chadwick
2. Include sketches of the following 5 models of the atom on the timeline showing when they were
introduced.
□ Electron Cloud Model
□ Bohr’s model
□ Solid sphere or Billiard Ball Model
□ Plum Pudding Model
□ Rutherford’s model
3. Have the dates clearly shown and all items above glued onto the timeline in chronological order.
4. Correct spelling, neat & legible.
