Guam Transportation Improvement Program GTIP 2016-2019 MISSION STATEMENT It is the mission of the Guam Department of Public Works to provide a safe, efficient and sustainable transportation system for residents, visitors, and military personnel that supports economic diversification, resource conservation, and exceptional quality of life. Includes sidewalks, retaining walls and drainage system. Tamuning 2016 2017 Route 3A Pavement Restoration Pavement restoration and reconstruction of approximately 3.5 miles of road from Potts Junction to Anderson Air Base Northwest Field. This project is being undertaken in cooperation with the Department of Defense. Yigo 2016 Ajayan Bridge Replacement Complete bridge replacement and reconstruction of roadway approaches including guardrail replacement, pavement repair, pavement markings, and other related work. Inarajan 2016 Route 1 Signalized Pedestrian Crossing at Chamorro Village Construction of a new pedestrian signal on Route 1 from Chamorro Village to West Soledad Avenue. Hagatna 2016 Route 5 & Portion of Route 12 Reconstruction & Widening Reconstruction and widening of Route 5 and a portion of Route 12 from Route 2A to the entrance of the Naval Magazine including intersection upgrades and enhancements, drainage improvements and other related work. Piti 2016 Route 8/Canada-Toto Loop Road Intersection Improvements Construction of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Route 8 and Canada-Toto Loop Road. Barrigada 2016 Route 14 Resurfacing (Route 1 to Archbishop Felixberto Flores Circle) Reconstruction of Route 14 from Route 1 Archbishop Felixberto Flores Circle including drainage improvements, additional raised medians, new pavement markings and signs. Tamuning 2019 Santa Rita 2017 Harmon 2018 2019 Islandwide Safety Projects Various roadway safety improvement and safety upgrades islandwide. Islandwide 2016 2019 Traffic Signal System Upgrade Islandwide, Phase I Traffic signal reconstruction for operational and functional upgrades at seven separate locations. Islandwide 2016 2017 Traffic Management Center – Communications The Traffic Management Center will provide flexible advanced traffic signal coordination along with greatly improved notifications of signal outages. Islandwide 2017 Aplacho Bridge Replacement Route 27 Finegayan Road Reconstruction and Drainage Improvements Complete bridge replacement and reconstruction of roadway approaches including guardrail replacement, pavement repair, pavement markings, and other related work. Full roadway reconstruction including drainage improvements, signalized intersection, relocation and adjustment of utility lines, new pavement markers and signs.
