This month long event, with four themed weeks, provides new and returning students a chance to explore university life, while forging deeper connections and engagement between community groups, clubs and all Deakin students. In 2016 there will be no attendance fee to be present during PLUS 4 activities, however exhibitors are expected to project an interactive and engaging experience, relevant to the themed week of PLUS 4. Welcome back introduces students to the university community, local community and DUSA clubs for 2016. The opening week also aims to familiarise students with services, sports, campuses and networks in their areas. Let’s welcome Deakin students back to university life. A healthy lifestyle is an important element and DUSA wants you to share your ideas with Deakin students to help unlock the ultimate healthy university lifestyle. Week three focuses on meeting the material needs of Deakin students. From learning how to budget, to finding a job or making conversation – armed with the right tools, anyone can succeed. A0040625Y DUSA PLUS 4 – GEELONG Please note: This is a summary of the main Terms and Conditions for PLUS 4. A full copy of the Terms and Conditions will be pursuant to confirmation of attendance. Distribution of food/drinks Alcohol distribution is prohibited at all campuses. Distribution of any other form of food or drink must be in compliance with Health/Food Regulations (subject to the City of Whitehorse) and liability for any breach will fall to the stallholder. Prior agreement must be obtained from DUSA if you plan to hand out food/drinks. Marketing, promotion and selling Display of offensive or discriminatory material and/or harassment of passers-by is prohibited. Any form of spruiking/entertainment needs to be approved by DUSA to ensure consistent engagement of students. Any promotion or advertising of companies other than that of the stall holders must be approved by DUSA. Any selling of products must be approved by DUSA. If you are a bar, nightclub, pub (or equivalent) and have a confirmed stall you can only promote the one venue. If you would like to promote multiple venues then you must consult with DUSA on how to tailor your partnership package. Do not promote outside your stall area on campus ground unless you have permission to do so via DUSA. Cancellation Twenty one (21) days’ notice in writing is required to cancel a booking. General Conditions The stallholder shall not sub-let or assign the site to any other person or organisation unless with the permission of DUSA. The stallholder shall remain in attendance at and through the duration of the market or shall nominate a responsible person to perform this duty. The stallholder shall conduct his/her stall in a responsible manner so as not to disturb other campus users. The stallholder shall leave the premises in a clean and tidy condition. This includes the removal of any empty boxes, cardboard, leftover pamphlets, and any item bought on to the premises by the stallholder. The stallholder shall report to the Sponsorship Officer any damage, which may have occurred during the market. Any and all costs of security services and cleaning, repairs and replacements incurred specifically in connection with any hiring over and above any such costs normally borne by the DUSA in relation to the premises occupied shall be charged to, and paid by, the stallholder. The stallholders shall comply with all laws and regulations of the Commonwealth, the State of Victoria and the local city council that govern their business activities at Deakin University. The stallholder shall comply with the University Statutes, Regulations and Rules of the University and DUSA (http://theguide.deakin. edu.au) The stallholder is responsible for any equipment and materials under their control. The University shall not be responsible for any damage to any of the stallholders’ equipment or materials. You will need to provide DUSA with a copy of your company’s certificate of currency for public liability purposes. Failure to do so may result in your stall site being cancelled, with full payment due. Breach of these guidelines Any party breaching the above guidelines (affiliated clubs, non-affiliated clubs and commercial users) depending upon the severity of the breach, will be requested to close their stall and vacate the stall site area, and will be excluded from participating in any remaining activities during the event. Furthermore, any breach will jeopardise future involvement in Deakin University Student Association Activities *DUSA reserves the right to administer an exhibitor fee if business displays do not align with DUSA themed weeks.
