Sturgis, South Dakota Tour
Itinerary
May 27 – June 3, 2017
This time of the year, you can experience the Black Hills and ride without all the other
400,000 people while also spending less for your hotel accommodation! During this
trip, we will ride to the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Spearfish Canyon, Devils Tower,
Custer State Park and Needles Hwy.
Saturday – May 20th – Loading Bikes at Lynn’s, or if needed bring prior to this date.
Suggested items to pack with your bike include the following:
All luggage, hang up clothes, helmets, boots, leathers, cameras, etc. Bring appropriate cold
and warm weather clothing (riding gear), chaps, gloves, jackets, and rain gear. During this
time of year, it is necessary to layer your clothes because it will be cold in
the morning and will warm up during the day. Also don't forget sun block and chapstick!
Due to Hazardous Materials restrictions - please DO NOT fill gas tank. Additionally, bike
registration must be available along with personal contact information - Your Cell
phone and an Emergency Contact number.
To save expenses, room sharing is an available option
Saturday – May 27th – Arrange flights to fly into Rapid City, South Dakota. When arrive
call for free shuttle to the hotel. Reservations are at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel. Rates
are $82.00 + tax. This is our Tour base for the entire trip.
Sunday – May 28th – Today’s ride we will go to Rapid City Harley-Davidson and then head
to Mt. Rushmore. Heading back to Rapid City, we will stop in the old mining town of
Keystone.
Monday – May 29th – Today we will ride the beautiful scenic roads to the Black Hills to Custer State
Park and Needles Highway (where Dances with Wolves was filmed). We will see herds of Buffalo,
mountain goats and antelopes.
Sturgis, South Dakota (Continued)
Tuesday – May 30th - After breakfast we will tour Crazy Horse Monument, and then head
toward Deadwood. Deadwood is full of Western history and plenty of gambling…if you feel
lucky.
Wednesday – May 31st – Today we will head to the Badlands where you will be in awe of
the beautiful scenery and the colors of the landscape. Be sure you have plenty of
film, have your camera charged, or whatever you have to take lots of pictures! Before
heading back to Rapid City, we will ride into Wall, South Dakota for a break, where ice
water is free.
Thursday – June 1st – Devils’ Tower is our destination today, but in route we will stop in
Sturgis, which will host the 71st Rally this year! You can be one of the first to get a T-Shirt
for the 72st Rally and then claim – been there – got the T-shirt! The ride to Devil’s Tower is
unbelievable with views around every curve. On the way back to Sturgis, we will make a
stop at the Full Throttle Saloon, which is the Biggest Biker Bar in the World
& meet Michael Bullard & Jessie Dupree, from the TV Series, the Full Throttle Saloon.
Friday – June 2nd Today we will ride through Spearfish Canyon, which is a great ride, but
be on the lookout for Deer. We will stop at Bridal Falls for pictures. Spearfish Canyon is
were Dances with Wolves was filmed.
Saturday – June 3rd We will do a short ride today and be back to load bikes and luggage.
Fly home.
Approximately 1200 riding miles
Fee: $1,400.00 per Bike. No Extra Charge for Passenger. (Fuel surcharge may apply).
Motel – 7 nights approximately $574.00 plus tax.
