Important Safety Reminder
Please help us keep our kids safe! We are telling our students that
they are not allowed to walk to the parking lot (due to moving cars).
Students must wait by the front for the cars to pull up, or parents
can park their cars in the parking lot and walk to the front to get
their child.
If you park at Milton HS, please always cross the street to our
school and greet your child. Students are not allowed to cross this
busy street unless in the designated crosswalk controlled by the
Milton Police Officer.
Please support us with this procedure. Thank you!
ITBS testing for 8th graders went very well this week. We will
be completing make-up testing for any students who missed tests
early next week.

Northwestern Middle School Pride Wall Recognition Program
Each year Northwestern Middle School recognizes students through our Wildcat PRIDE Wall of
Fame program. Every nine weeks, teachers and faculty members nominate a student for recognition
in one of three categories: All Time High, Positive Paws and Arts and Athletics. Thursday, October
29th, first quarter wall of fame inductees will attend the signing ceremony and receive certificates.
Students will be congratulated by administrators and additional faculty and staff members. We encourage parents of nominated students to attend. The complete list of first quarter Wall of Fame inductees is posted below. Should you see these outstanding students in the hallways or community,
please take a moment to congratulate them. Go Wildcats!

We want to capture and showcase our Wildcats
“thriving” and doing amazing things in the school,
community, sports, and arts. So we’re starting a

journalism. Activities will include:

Film and produce “Special Reports” on
various NMS activities.

Tape and produce specialty videos for
the NMS building staff and students.

Create and support “student experts” in the use of
the video studio’s equipment.
The initial Video Club meetings will be Tuesdays

so attendance at the first meeting is critical. If you
think you might be interested, come to the Wildcat

Red Ribbon Week/Anti-Bullying Week
October 26th – 29th
Over the years, there has been a subtle incorporation of anti-bullying activities into
Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week has been a campaign that has focused on the
harmful, destructive and sometimes deadly impact of drugs in the lives of all, but
particularly young people. This year many Fulton County Schools will recognize Red
Ribbon Week/Anti Bullying Month together. We will recognize both at
Northwestern Middle School. Our RRW/Anti-Bullying campaign for the 2015-16
school year will be observed during the week of October 26h – October 29th.
Middle School students typically see Red Ribbon Week/Anti Bullying Week as their spirit week. We
are celebrating the spirit of healthy choices, lifestyles and friendships!
Our theme this year is……..
Respect Yourself and Others:
Pledge to be Drug Free and Kind

ATHLETIC NEWS
The Cambridge High School Annual 3v3 Tournament is coming up on December 12th! If you
have elementary/middle school children who play
soccer we would love for them to participate! This event is a lot of fun – you just put a
team of 5
together and go HERE to register.
We also need your help getting the word out to
our community:
Soccer Clubs – if you have younger kids who
play, please email the attached announcement to
your children’s soccer teams and invite them to
play. It just takes 5 players to form a team (U7–
U14 is target age). Any way you can get the word
out to your soccer club is a huge help.
South Forsyth Elementary & Middle Schools – if
you have a contact at one of these schools
(teacher, PTA parent, etc.) who could help us get
our announcement in their newsletter let us
know. We can send Peachjar flyers to Fulton
county schools but not to Forsyth county schools.
Please place our flyers in local businesses (with
permission of course) where we could reach our
target audience – Starbuck’s, Taco Mac, sports
stores, etc. Let us know where you are posting
so we can keep track of where we are advertising. Thanks for helping out with this important
fundraiser.
