FRI 9 Fly from Australia to Tokyo, Japan
SAT 10 Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo is Japan’s capital and the world’s most
populous metropolis. The city’s history can be
appreciated in many excellent museums, historic
temples and gardens. Upon arrival in Tokyo we
will enjoy a Tokyo city tour, visiting Tokyo Tower,
Imperial Palace Plaza, Asakusa Kannon Temple
and Nakamise Shopping Arcade. The afternoon
is free to explore this wonderful city. (B)
SUN 11 Tokyo, Japan
Today is free to explore this wonderful city. (B)
MON 12 Kyoto, Japan
Today we travel by private coach halfway up
Japan’s highest mountain, Mt Fuji, to enjoy a
spectacular view from a height of 2,300 metres
followed by a Japanese-style lunch. In the
afternoon we travel through the Owakudani
Valley, enjoy a ride on the Hakone Ropeway’s
aerial cable car and then take a cruise on Lake
Ashi. In the evening we will take the Shinkansen
bullet train to Kyoto. Kyoto was established
in AD794 and has remained the centre of
civilisation in Japan for over a thousand years.
Kyoto retains its unique position as the country’s
historical and cultural centre. (B,L)
TUE 13 Kyoto, Japan
This morning we will have a panoramic tour
of Kyoto to see the main sights. We will visit
the Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle and Kyoto
Imperial Palace. We will enjoy lunch at the Kyoto
Handicraft Centre where traditional Japanese
Crafts are still practiced. In the afternoon we
will travel to Nara, visiting the Todaiji Temple
housing Great Buddha, Nara Park where many
tame deer are freely roaming, colourful Kasuga
Shrine, with 3,000 lanterns, and Nara Nagomikan
before returning to Kyoto. (B,L)
WED 14 Osaka, Japan
Today we travel to Osaka to board the
wonderful Golden Princess. (B,D)
THU 15 to WED 21 At Sea
Enjoy days at sea as you cruise across the Pacific
Ocean to Alaska. You will be able to enjoy one
of the many on-board activities or browse in
the designer boutiques aboard the ship. In the
evenings you can attend Broadway-style shows
in the theatre. (B,L,D)
THU 22 Anchorage (Seward), Alaska
Today we arrive into Seward, a historic city
filled with quaint shops and art galleries and
some of the most exciting outdoor adventures
imaginable. You may like to visit the Alaska
Sealife Centre, which features beautiful local
marine life in its natural habitat or the Alaska
Wildlife Conservation Center to view Alaska’s
most famous animals up close in a natural
setting. Sightseeing tours are available to be
booked onboard the ship.
FRI 23 Hubbard Glacier, Alaska
Nicknamed the “Galloping Glacier,” Hubbard
glacier is rapidly advancing toward the
Gulf of Alaska into a pristine area known as
Disenchantment Bay. Enjoy the views as we
enjoy a day of scenic cruising.

SAT 24 Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska
A day of cruising in the spectacular Glacier Bay.
The icy wilderness of this spectacular national
park displays massive glaciers that stretch
from the ice-draped St Elias and Fairweather
mountain ranges to the end of majestic fjords.
This park is also home to an amazing world of
marine life. A highlight of the cruise! (B,L,D)
THU 29 Seattle, USA
Seattle is a major cultural centre, its
sophistication evident in its architecture, food,
fashion and arts. Seattle is famous for the Space
Needle, the movie Sleepless in Seattle and is
home to Boeing.
FRI 30 Victoria, Canada
Victoria is the capital city of British Columbia and
located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island
off Canada’s Pacific coast. Discover Victoria’s
lovely homes, gardens, the Legislative Building,
Beacon Hill Park and other historical points such
as Chinatown and Antique Row. You may like to
visit the world famous Butchart Gardens. Over
50 acres of blossoms and fragrance await you at
this enchanting attraction.
SUN 25 Skagway, Alaska
Few one-time boomtowns retain the flavour of
the gold rush days like Skagway. This ‘Gateway to
the Klondike’ is preserved as a National Historic
Park and features one of the oldest narrowgauge railroads. (B,L,D)
MON 26 Icy Strait Point, Alaska
We will be moored off the coast of the private
port of Icy Strait Point. Once home to a fishing
cannery it is now a tourist resort with shops,
restaurants and wilderness experiences.

SAT 1 Vancouver, Canada
Vancouver, a bustling west coast seaport in
British Columbia. You may like to visit the 1,000acre Stanley Park, then step out for a look at the
exceptional collection of totem poles at Lions
Gate Bridge. Overnight in Vancouver
SUN 2 Vancouver, Canada
This morning you may like to visit the historic
Gastown, site of Vancouver’s original settlement,
Chinatown or the Vancouver Lookout. The ship
departs at 1pm.
TUE 27 Ketchikan, Alaska
Ketchikan was established as a centre of the
salmon industry, it is now a vibrant centre for
the tourist industry. You may like to see the
totem poles and visit the famous Creek Street,
which is built on stilts and used to be the
red light district of the town, now it contains
boutique shops. (B,L,D)

MON 3 At Sea
TUE 4 San Francisco, USA
Arrive into San Francisco at midday. San
Francisco is known for its hilly landscape, iconic
Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars and colourful
Victorian houses. Overnight in San Francisco.
WED 5 San Francisco, USA
Enjoy another day to explore San Francisco.
THU 6 At Sea
FRI 7 Los Angeles, USA
Los Angeles is famed as the centre of the
US’s film and television industry. Not far from
its iconic Hollywood sign, studios such as
Paramount Pictures, Universal and Warner
Brothers offer behind-the-scenes tours. On
Hollywood Boulevard, TCL Chinese Theater
displays celebrities’ hand- and footprints, the
Walk of Fame honors thousands of luminaries
and vendors sell maps to stars’ homes. After
disembarking we will enjoy a sightseeing tour
before checking into our hotel.

A free day to discover Los Angeles. This
afternoon we are transferred to the airport for
the flight back to Australia. (B)
