We will provide information that will benefit community and not-for-profit leaders U.S. Congresswoman seeking resources for their constituents. The Unity Breakfast also serves as a Terri A. Sewell support event for the annual MLK Scholarship Essay program, providing direct scholarships to high school students throughout the Birmingham region. The theme for our 2016 Scholarship Essay contest is “Beyond Poverty,” based on Dr. King’s final efforts to eradicate poverty in the United States.
