The Biesse Rover A 3.65FT represents the latest technological advancement in machining centers. It is
engineered to process solid woods, plastics and non ferrous metals such as aluminum and composite
materials including Corian™.
Working fields: X = 6450mm (253.9”); Y = 1290mm (50.75); Z = 140mm (5.5”)
Axes strokes: X = 6930 mm; Y = 1640 mm; Z = 200mm (8”)
Structure
The machine base and gantry consists of thick plate steel which is welded, stressed relieved and
precision machined to ensure maximum rigidity and longevity. To guarantee the machine structure will be
properly engineered for the most demanding environments, it is designed on state of the art Finite
Element Analysis (FEA) engineering software.
Movement of controlled axes
The “X” axis transverses on a precision helical rack and pinion via digital brushless servo motors
The “Y” and “Z” axis transverse on precision ground ball via digital brushless servo motors.
Automatic lubrication system
FT Work Table
The work table is made of stratified phenolic, it provides for a vacuum clamping system of pieces and full
sheets and has a 30mm pitch grid for the rapid placement of a holding devices such as pods or fixtures.
The entire work table is covered with vacuum channels ( D=10mm) with 150mm x 120mm centerdistance,
and is equipped with patented plugs for quick removal. It can also utilize the 8mm threaded inserts for jig
installation or other clamping equipment.

Vacuum tank
Integrated in the machine base, the vacuum tank allows a constant and high level of vacuum during initial
locking operations and in case of vacuum leakages due to very porous material.

Prearrangement for c axis with 360° interpolation
Machine is prewired for a future “c” axis if needed which is field retrofit able. The addition of a "C" axis
will allow a full 360° rotation in one second.
Boring head BH 21 L
The boring block is equipped with 21 independent tools for single and multiple borings on 5 sides of
panels
The spindles have an alternate Rh/Lh rotation and utilize precision ground helical gears allowing maximum
operating accuracy and very little noise.
The head is composed of:
• 14 independent vertical spindles at a center distance of 32 mm, 7 in the X direction and 7 along the Y
• 3 independent horizontal spindles with two bit holders(6 horizontals) each at a center distance of 32
mm, 2 of which is placed along X and 1 along Y
• 120mm saw blade for grooves in X direction only
18 position ride along revolving tool changer
Installed on the y carriage, it holds up to 18 tools and aggregates reducing tool change time required on
the machine and also has the ability to change tools while the boring block is working

This module for the design of cabinets allows customers to have a simple and effective programming
system, capable of working in combination with all the other software packages made in Biesse.
Statistics
Machine statistics are capable of collecting and recording general information on machine performance,
reliability and productivity. Customers can choose to record events, such as: machine set-up, working
control, authorized pauses, lubrication cycles, etc…

Emergency recovery procedure
This function allows operators to restart an interrupted working due to a machine emergency stop. The
