Summer – Repeat Credit Program (On-line Computer Courses) for Grades 9 – 12
1.
One (1) course may be taken during The Summer – Repeat Credit Program. Students may enroll in a course they have
previously taken and failed. The Repeat Credit Program courses will be taken on-line. Students complete lessons,
assignments, tests and exams on computer.

The Summer – Repeat Credit Program will offer courses through EdGenuity. EdGenuity courses are self-paced and
competency-based computer classes.
LOCATION: ABBEVILLE High School computer labs - Parents must provide transportation.
DATES & TIME: June 2nd - June 30th 7:30-11:30 a.m.

June 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30

Students may arrive NO EARLIER than 7:15 a.m.

If parents are more than 5 minutes late in picking up their child, the parent will have to come
into the classroom to get their child. The student must continue working until the parent
comes.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES:
1. HEADPHONES – Everyday
2. One inch binder with loose-leaf paper or 2 subject notebook – Notebook notes are worth 10% of the
student’s final grade, checked weekly
3. Pen/pencil and a highlighter
4. School Uniforms must be worn each day.

The parent and student must attend the registration meeting on TUESDAY, MAY 31st at either 3:00 p.m. or
5:30 p.m.

Bring this completed registration packet to the registration meeting.

The completed registration packet will include the Principal’s permission/approval and signature and all
forms completed, signed, and dated.

Payment of fees is required at the time of registration.
$ 200.00 per course for Vermilion Parish students
Vermilion Parish public school students will be given priority to enroll in The Summer – Repeat Credit
Program.
$ 300.00 per course for out-of-parish students

Exact amount of money is required at registration. Change may not be available.
No refunds after Friday, June 3, 2016. This includes any student who drops out or is released from The
Summer – Repeat Credit Program because of discipline.

NOTE: Students may complete the Repeat Credit Program prior to June 30th if the student completes all
assignments and earns a passing final grade. Students must earn a passing grade in the course in order to receive
credit for the course.)

The rules and regulations that are in place during the regular school session, according to the Vermilion Parish
Discipline Policy, are also in place during The Summer – Repeat Credit Program. All discipline rules apply during
The Summer – Repeat Credit Program
Any student who violates the VPSB discipline policy will be released/dismissed
from The Summer – Repeat Credit Program. No refund will be given and credit
will not be earned.
7.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Though the course will be taken on-line through a web-based program, students are required to be present in
summer classes each day from 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (SIGN-IN AND OUT IS REQUIRED)
Parents MUST contact the teacher if the student cannot be in class on a specific day OR if the student will be late and/or
will have to leave early. CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE SUMMER SCHOOL TEACHERS WILL BE GIVEN TO PARENTS AT
THE REGISTRATION MEETING.
The assigned teacher will monitor each student’s performance and amount of time spent working on-line. If the student is
not keeping pace with what is expected, the parent will be contacted.
