OCTOBER
ROSARY: During
the month of October we will pray the rosary as a
community of faith of Saint Cecilia before all the
masses. The rosary will begin half an hour before mass.
I am encouraging all our parishioners to pray the rosary
as a family for themselves, for peace in the world and
teach it to their children in the family.
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: The Liturgy
celebration for the twenty fifth priestly ordination of
Father Peter will be held on Saturday, September 21st,
2013. We will begin with a bilingual mass at 4:30pm.
The main celebrant will be Bishop Josu Iriondo. You
are all welcome.
REMINDER: I would like to remind all the parents
and the children in the religious education program that
an active participation in the Sunday Mass is part and
parcel of the program and is required. Make time for
God in your life and family.
SAINT LORENZO RUIZ: We will celebrate the feast
of Saint Lorenzo Ruiz on Wednesday, September 25th
with a special mass at 7:30pm. You are all welcome!
YOUTH FIELD PRODUCTION CERTIFICATE
TRAINING: is an 8 – week intensive training in media
production. After successfully completing the training
participants may check out equipment to produce
independent video projects for broadcast on MNN channel.
Starts Thursday, October 34rd, 2013 and meets every
Thursday from 4:30pm – 6:30pm and Saturday from 12:pm
– 4pm. Program ends on Thursday, December 5th, 2013.

COUPLES CONGRESS: The fourth couples’ congress will
be held at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx on 650
Grand Concourse. It will be on Saturday, October 5th from
9:00am to 5:00pm. The speakers for the congress are:
Bishop Corniel Amaro from Puerto Plata of Dominican
Republic, Martha Rodriguez, Father Silvio Ortiz, Luis A.
Aguilera, Rafael and Olga Cuenca and Enrique Lugo. We
will conclude with a concert by Wilfredo Ortiz, Pablo
Castro, Carlos Fabian, Rafael and Yaniris. I encourage our
Spanish speaking couples from the parish to make time and
attend this congress – buy your ticket of $15 per couple.
Food Sale: There will be a Food Sale after every mass
on Sunday, September 22. We are asking parishioners
to patronize this food sale that will benefit the Altar
Servers activities as a thank you for the ministry they
serve in here in the parish. Thank you for your
cooperation.
Our Lady of Cisne: The devotees to Our Lady of
Cisne from our parish and the pilgrims from other parts
of the Archdiocese will join together to celebrate the
mass in her honor on Friday, September 27th in the
evening at 7:30pm here at Saint Cecilia Parish.
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN: The pledges from the
parishioners total three hundred fifty eight thousand
($358,000.00). Today we have received thirty seven
percent of the pledges ($131,530). The Balance is:
$226,525. We thank you for your generosity and we know
that together we will raise the roof at Saint Cecilia. Please
visit the thermometers at the back of the church.

SAN LORENZO RUIZ: Vamos a celebrar la fiesta de
San Lorenzo Ruiz el miércoles, Septiembre 25 con
una misa especial a las 7:30 pm. Todos son
bienvenidos!
ROSARIO DE OCTUBRE: Durante el mes de
octubre vamos a rezar el rosario como una comunidad
de fe de Santa Cecilia antes de todas las misas. El
rosario comenzará media hora antes de la misa. Estoy
animando a todos nuestros feligreses a rezar el rosario
en familia por sí mismos, por la paz en el mundo y
enseñar a sus hijos en la familia.
ANIVERSARIO: La celebración litúrgica de los
veinticinco años de aniversario de ordenado
como sacerdote del Padre Pedro se celebrará
el Sábado, 21 de septiembre 2013. Vamos a
comenzar con una misa bilingüe a las 4:30
pm. El celebrante principal será el Obispo
Josu Iriondo. Todos son bienvenidos.
Venta de comida: Habrá venta de comida después de
todas las misas del domingo, 22 de septiembre.
Estamos pidiendo a los feligreses a patrocinar esta
venta de alimentos que beneficiará a las actividades de
los monaguillos como agradecimiento por el ministerio

Nuestra Señora del Cisne: Los devotos a la
Virgen del Cisne de nuestra parroquia y los
