CONSTRUCTION UPDATE MARCH 2016 QUEENSLAND SCHOOLS PROJECT NEW SCHOOL AT CABOOLTURE NORTH EAST VIEW LOOKING SOUTH TOWARDS THE OVAL AREA WORK AT NEW SCHOOL IN FULL SWING FAST FACTS Location: Builder: Site size: Stage 1 Completed: Stage 2 Complete: Pumicestone Road, Caboolture Work is now well underway on the new primary school being delivered in Caboolture North East as part of the Queensland Schools Project. After work commenced on site at the beginning of the New Year, construction has progressed well. Watpac Construction Activities currently underway include: 6.3 hectares - Digging and pouring of footings, - Bulk earthworks which are due to be completed by the end of March, - Installing underground electrical infrastructure; and January 2017 - Installing under slab drainage. All works are progressing well and are on track for completion of Stage 1 A in early November 2016. January 2019 The following activities will be progressing over the coming months: - Sewer trunk installation, - Stormwater installation, - Pouring building slabs, - Laying blockwork, - Steel frame installation; and - Install roofing. The management of safety on site continues to be a priority for the construction team, with no injuries or incidents reported to date. Work will continue to be undertaken on site from Monday to Saturday; always within council regulated hours. FOR MORE INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT: Design of the required upgrade to the surrounding external infrastructure is currently being undertaken by the local authority and the Department of Education and Training. Our design consultants have been liaising with the designers of the external works to ensure the integration with the new school site is designed and constructed appropriately. Where impacts to the surrounding community are unavoidable, Watpac will proactively notify affected residents and seek to alleviate any relevant concerns, where practical and feasible. CONSTRUCTION OVERVIEW - Stage 1A works set for handover in early November 2016, - Stage 1B works set for handover in early January 2017 ahead of the academic year commencement; and - Stage 2 works to re-commence in 2018 for commencement of 2019 academic year. It is expected by November 2016 the school will be partially open to take enrolments. ABOUT THE PROJECT The Queensland Schools Project is being delivered as a public private partnership between Plenary Schools and the Queensland Government’s Department of Education. The Plenary Schools consortium will design, construct, commission, partially finance, maintain and provide facilities management services for the project’s 10 schools over 30 years. In January 2016, Plenary Schools successfully opened new schools at Bellmere, Deebing Heights, Griffin and Pallara which followed the successful openings at Burpengary and Pimpama in January 2015.
