Odd Squad Live!
Attention Odd Squad fans, something very odd has happened in
your hometown. Ms. O needs you to team up with Odd Squad
agents in this live, interactive adventure to solve an exciting case.
There will be gadgets! There will be villains! There will be music!
There will be comfortable seats, but you’ll only need the edge…
because frankly, it’s bad for posture to sit all the way back. Well,
whatever are you waiting for? Go!

2.OA.3: Determine whether a group of objects (up to 20) has an odd or even number of members, e.g., by pairing
objects or counting them by 2s; write an equation to express an even number as a sum of two equal addends.
Have students go on a scavenger hunt in your classroom looking for groups of things in odd numbered groups.
(3 chairs, 7 book tubs, 5 lamps) Want to have more fun? Provide students with magnifying glasses.
2.NBT.1: Understand the three digits of a three digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones; eg.,
706 equals 7 hundreds, 0 tens, and 6 ones. Understand the following as special cases:
Give mystery number riddles to have students solve the 3 digit number.
For example:
The digit 5 is in the tens place.
The digit 7 is in the ones place.
The 2 is in the hundreds place.
Extension: Go into the thousands place for more complicated numbers.
2. MD. 2: Measure the length of an object by selecting and using appropriate tools such as rulers, yardsticks, meter
sticks, and measuring tapes.
Have 4 different footprints of different lengths.
Have 4 different handprints of different lengths.
Have 4 different hair strands (yarn) of different lengths.
Have 4 different heights of different lengths.
The mystery: Someone steals a beloved object from your classroom. Leaving behind clues and an eye witness
testimony. Using these clues, have students measure (standard measuring) the following items to figure out
WHO stole the item.

band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range.
