Print to Xerox machines Drivers for both Windows and Mac can be found here: http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-5135-5150/downloads/ Select your operating system from the drop down menu. Be sure to select the right choice for your computer, or you will not be able to use some of the printing features. Windows users: Select the “Xerox Global Print Driver”, then “Install from Web”. Download & install with default options. You will need to accept the Xerox terms & conditions, but select “Close” (then “Exit registration”) when asked to register your print driver at the end of installation. Mac users: Select the Mac OS X print driver package. You will need to accept the Xerox terms & conditions. When choosing the printer during installation, you should see an option for “Xerox WorkCentre 5135 (or 5150)” or something similar; choose this one. There is also an option to enter the IP address of the printer if you select the highlighted icon (sometimes the installer cannot find the correct printer): Clare: Carlson: Ramaley: ARCE: 128.138.130.148 128.138.125.62 128.138.220.28 128.138.76.24 Once the machine is installed, you can use features of the machine such as printing double-sided, stapling, collating, using alternate paper trays, and secure print (the job Print to Xerox machines won’t print until you enter a code at the machine to release it). You should find these options under “printer properties”. The machines in Clare and Ramaley require users to login to use the machine, so you will also need to use that 4-digit code to print to the machine. See instructions below: To configure your copy code(s) using Windows (Clare & Ramaley only): 1) From the Start menu, select the printers and faxes folder. 2) Right click on the printer (called “ClareCopier” or “RamaleyCopier”) and go to Properties. 3) Select the Configuration tab, then Accounting. 4) Select Xerox Standard Accounting from the drop-down menu. You can enable the top section to get a popup each time (useful if you use different codes from the same computer), and/or you can set a default code in the bottom part if you use the same code each time. Your “user ID” is your copy code. 5) Click “OK”, and then “Apply” to save your settings. To configure your code(s) using Mac (Clare & Ramaley only): *Open your document in its original program (Word, Excel, etc) as this will not work in “Preview” mode nor in Acrobat. 1) Select File and then Print, then open the pull down menu that says "Copies & Pages". 2) Select "Xerox Features". 3) Select “Advanced” from the next drop down. 4) Select “accounting” from the bottom of the dialogue box. 5) Choose "Xerox Standard Accounting or Auditron". 6) Select "Always prompt" if that is the setting you want (it will prompt you to enter a User ID each time). Enter your copier code as “default user ID” and the copier will print. Print to Xerox machines OR 6) Select “do not prompt”; check “auxiliary accounting interface”; enter your copy code as the Default User ID. 5) In order to save this for next time, go to the Presets menu at the top of the Print window, select “Save current settings as...”, and name this print configuration something that you will remember. After you’ve saved, select Print and it should work. You should now be able to choose this configuration in the future (and using other programs) and not need to enter your code again.
